Office politics

The atmosphere in my office feels so different nowadays. Everyone is so hostile around Julie (my FM). This morning a supplier who's been bugging us for a long time called. Chris ans the phone. She told them we'll be making payment for the Feb invoices. They exclaimed,"Wat abt the Mar invoices huh?". Chris explained to them tat we r only employees and have to take instructions frm the higher levels (Julie had earlier said tat we shall make pymt for Feb only due to cashflow problems). So the call was transferred to Julie. Julie ans and told the person tat she is not sure abt this as Chai Li is the one making pymts. She put the person on hold but did not transfer the call to Chai Li. WTF! This gal got clever. She came out to talk to Vivian, Larry and Chai Li, pretending to be busy AGAIN. The call got reverted bk to Chris. Chris repeated the same things and tsf the call once again to Julie. Julie refused to pick up other calls after tat also.

It is damn irritating. I sat right outside her room. The phone has been ringing off the hooks. She's obviously there but too scared or something to pick up calls. Fucking hell... I also getting pissed off at her. Sometimes i'll look into her room on purpose, like willing her to pick up the call. Alice went in to talk to her b4 lunch, explaining tat the documents are urgent and thus require approval & signature asap. She was fuming and did not have much appetite for lunch. Alice said she's going to have a showdown with Julie one of these days when she could take it no more. Lunch hour is the only leisure time tat we are able to talk freely now. Otherwise, i'll juz be sniggering to myself when i see them coming close to a conflict with Julie in office. Can't take it man. Haha... Scared i might laugh out loud one of these days. It's like watching a show unfold right b4 my eyes. Vivian caught my eye a few times and smiled too. Lucky i'm not involved in all these shit and i only got abt a month more there. Morale is seriously dipping in my dept. Nobody likes to work under such a supervisor.

Few points to note if u wanna be a manager in future:

Dun shirk ur responsility
Be more well-prepared and knowledgable than ur subordinates
Social interaction in very impt
Essence of team work must still be visible
Be initiative and pro-active towards ur work
