Bkk Pics Part II

My Guess watch & manicure - Everyone agrees tat the manicure was well done and dirt cheap.

The 2 pair of shoes tat I got...

Tired faces at Sushi Tei

Pizza Co. (The pasta sucks. Perhaps should have really taken the Pizza instead.)
Xiaolongbao... (B is actually holding some fried prawn thingy). The dim sum there is real nice...

Us on the Ferris Wheel...

Anyway, had dinner with B's family last nite at Hollad V. It's his father's 60th birthday. Happy bday, Uncle! Then we met Yi Hwee, Gordon & Co. for dessert at Haagen Dazs. After tat, they proceeded to mahjong at B's house. Played until 3 plus. I was rather tired already. Subsequently, B and I still had prata at the place near my house. Fun-filled day of eating. LOL...

Massage, massage, massage...

Meeting-up with Cheng Wei at Suan-Lum

Forgot to mention tat many of the Thai were wearing yellow Tees esp om my first day there. It is for their king's 60th anniversary accessor to the throne. Yellow is meant to be auspicious or something prosperous for the king. I actually tot it was their uniform. Haha... Speaking abt uniforms, the students' uniforms are very similar. They are white blouse with black bottoms and differentiated only by the belts and buttons. And they are very different frm those in S'pore. It's very tight-fitting and the skirts are short with slits some more. (Forgot to take pic of the yellow shirts and uniforms). We'll nv be able to see such uniforms in S'pore. When i used to alter my skirt in my sec days, I always got caught by the discipline mistress already. They will nv approve it in a million years. Never...

Bangkok

I am back frm Bangkok! It's been quite an experience though i didn't have much to buy. The gals there are all very slim. I only see like 5% who are on the fleshy side. I felt so self-conscious there, like i'm considered fat. Tat explains their sizes of clothes, shoes and even bras. B wanted to get a pair of slippers but he couldn't fit into the large size cos the guy explains they come in "Thai size" only. Lol... I see many A cups bras on sale too. There are a few Ds here and there, meant for trans i think. Transvestites are a common view there - I like!

Didn't go for any Tiger show cos it's quite exp. Went for massages twice within a single day though. A full body massage in the evening and a foot massage at nite after we are done with shopping. My body was aching all over. The massager was even frightened when one of my fingers cracked very loudly. She tot she has broken it. Haha...

I have covered Siam Centre, Paragon, MBK, Pratunum, Suan-Lum Nite Bazaar and part of Siam Sq as well. The places are so big such tat u can't seem to see where it ends. They are confusing as well, all angles look the same. Now i understand y ppl tell me to buy things i like very much on the spot. Cos u cannot seem to find it afterwards. Tat's wat happen for B. He can't find bk the shoes tat he wanted to buy initially. Sulking some more. Haha... I met up with Cheng Wei at Suan Lum. We had dinner at the food center. Their food center uses coupons to purchase food. The feeling is abit like fun fair. B and I sat on the Ferris Wheel too...

The food was fantastic. We dine at restaurants most of the time. A plate of pasta costs only like 120 Baht which is around S$5. We went Sushi Tei, The Coffee Company (imitation of TCC i think), Shanghai Xiaolongbao. Their Mac dun have breakfast menu one and they open at 9 or 10am. Kinda weird... The KFC made up for it though(highly recommended by B's Mom which is no mistake). The chicken is crispy, soft and tender. I miss Dunkin' Donuts already! Y S'pore dun have? Sob sob...

I bought a few bras, 2 tops, a jeans and a skirt. I got some food stuffs like pork floss roll, dried mango, coconut crisps and some milk/pandan/coffee sweets. I also bought 2 shoes under rather forced circumstances. My heels tat i wore there actually broke on the 2nd day! Wat a bummer, totally spoil my day. B and i walked around looking for shoes. I bought a pair of heels which i wanted to buy at Bugis St in S'pore. They were cheaper over there but were also hard to walk around with. So i got another pair of slippers frm m)phosis. The m)phosis there having 50% off but were still quite exp considering they are made in S'pore. Haha... My fav purchase gotta be the Guess watch. It's really nice. Oh and I did manicure as well. Costs only $4+ which is like 10 times cheaper than S'pore...

The cab fares were very cheap too. Costs around 3 bucks only. Mostly I took the skytrain though. It amazes me tat the ppl there really queue up to enter the train. Initially, I did not notice it until i start drawing stares frm them as I was standing right smack in the center waiting for the door to open. They are so orderly tat it could seriously put S'poreans to shame. S'poreans are really kiasu. We nv let the passengers first alight. Instead, we juz barge in and those who wanna alight have a hard time coming out. Not to mention, it is totally time-consuming.

I was freaking tired on the way back. Imagine sleeping only like 6 hours per nite then shopped the whole day without coming back for a rest. Fatigue has dawned on me on the flight. I was dozing off on the plane. After I came bk last nite, I slept 14 hours straight. Didn't go for my bro's convocation cos there was no tics. I took a nap this evening as well. It simply feels like bliss...

Packing is a hassle

I think i should be more or less done with packing. I rem calculator, colgate, small towel and even panadol. I only brought along 2 sets of clothes cos i think i'll buy and wear on the spot. Quite a few things cannot be packed yet cos I gotta use them till tmr morn. They r things like my make-up, small pillow (Hehe), book and toothbrush.

Went to IMM today with my family. Seems to be bumping into Dian's sis at her roadshows quite often these few weeks. Saw her today and at CCK last week also. My mom bought me a necklace with pendant and a ring from Poh Heng for my 21st bday. I noe it's way too early for tat but becos today is the last day of GSS so my mom bought them first lor. Not tat i mind though. I tot Lee Hwa looks more appealing to youngsters. However, there is limited selection at IMM. Didn't take a pic of my prezzie. Think u'll spot me wearing them some time soon anyway.

Can't wait for tmr to come. I really wonder how Thai looks like. This is my first trip there. I have finally decided to bring my Elle pouch for shopping there. It's an antique man. Long time nv use. Haha... Alright, I shall go off and finalise some other details now. Will update u guys after i return. Adios for now...

Last day

Yippee! Yest was my last day of work instead of today. Haha... I was wrong abt the '2 days left at work' in my previous entry. I wasn't feeling good so I told Julie tat i wouldn't be coming in for today. So here i am, slacking at home and blogging away. Hate the light-headed feeling. I can't seem to walk properly and the floor seems to be spinning beneath my feet. Glad tat i'm not feeling any pain though, juz giddiness. But it's still annoying. Hope tat i can recover in time for the trip on Mon. Wanna enjoy myself to the brim.

So many things awaiting me to do. I have yet to pack my luggage, change money for Bahts, iron and hang away all my working wear. I dun need them anymore, at least not for the time being. Haha... I also need to drop by the library to return and borrow books. Shall do tat tmr.

I juz downloaded some themes like LV and Gucci for my phone. Looks super chic. The more features i discover, the more i like my phone. Didn't noe tat i could do so many things with it. I have also shorten the Superwoman(both Eng & Chi versions) songs with the help of my bro. One con abt my phone is tat the memory is freaking small. Therefore, i have to keep everything sweet and short. Lucky my bro's laptop has bluetooth so i dun have to buy the USB Cable thingy.

Gearing up for my trip. Hehe :)

Morgan Stanley

Pls dun ask me how the interview went. I got no idea at all. All I can say is tat I was very impressed with their security system. The security officer already had my name with them on a slip of paper. It states tat i have an appt with Eileen and to escort me to 16th floor. Their lifts and doors have to be operated by flashing their employee passes. Eileen brought me to a conference room and asks me to wait there. I tot tat she was going to be the one who was interviewing me. But a Japanese (Patrick) and AngMoh(can't rem her name) later came in. They are the real interviewers. Asked me the usual questions like where i'll see myself in 5 years' time, tell them more abt myself etc. Now it all depends on whether they'll call me back.

Had dinner (fantastic fish sliced bee hoon) at China Sq after the interview. It has fried egg in it. Dunno how to describe the taste. Not tat crispy but yet tangy. U juz gotta try it.

Office is frightenly quiet nowadays 'cept the phone calls. Other than tat, no one really talks. So i have become really talkative. Been chatting more with Chai Li. Can't stand working in a silent environment. Anyway, it's 2 more days left at work!

Beauty

http://www.abousydental.com/images/teeth-cartoon.jpg

Cost me a bomb by visiting the dentist and the doc today. 100 over bucks... Seems like i'm really not fated to shop once more for the GSS. I was wondering to myself y do i subject myself to such pain while i was lying on the dentist's chair and being 'operated' on. Silly rite? I guess for the sake of beauty, i'm willing to suffer for awhile. Furthermore, i got something considered impt tmr. First impression does matter.

Hence, I was xtra hardworking today. Shaped my eyebrows, wash off my nails polish immed after work. Then, i headed to the dentist and doc after dinner. Almost time for mask and wax now. Still haven't figure out wat i should wear tmr. As u noe, most of my clothes r spagh and not tat formal. Hmmm... Shall figure something out.

So Ms Soh is back today. No fun already. Gotta share the table with her. No more freedom and privacy. Tat's y i dun log into MSN at work anymore. Oh well... but i'm counting down. 4 more days left with work then i'm outta here to enjoy myself. I noe i've been repeating like a broken cassette player. Can't help it. Haha... I'm too excited.

Anyway, I visited my cousin(she's down with some illness) at Hougang yest and went for dinner with Shawn at Ajisen of CCK. Yummy... Another of my favorite...

Nokia 7370

http://nokia.com.sg/nokia/0,,83517,00.html

I noe, i said i wanted a Nokia 6280 in my earlier posts. But in the end I have gotten the 7370 instead cos 6280 is not on promo. I think it suits me better cos of all the flowery design. Haha... Plus i dun need the 3G functions. Was contemplating taking the same phone as Dian which is the 6111. But i tot tat a '7' number in front sounds nicer. LOL... I went down all the way to UOB Centre early in the morning for nothing. The recept told me tat i can't buy the phone cos i did not bring my IC. Stupid rite? Damn... I tot the driving licence has already replaced most of the IC functions. So i went bk home to get my IC and went down to Jurong Point instead. Thanks B for running around the island with me. The phone was also cheaper than my projected budget of $300. It costs 168 only but the SIM card costs 36.75 so it's a total of $204.75.

Yunnan Garden

We(a/c dept) had farewell lunch at Yunnan Garden today. It is meant for Chris who is leaving today and Vivian who is leaving next mon. Damn shiok man... Temp staff also gets to join in on such occasion and enjoys a free meal. Haha... Only makes me look more like a glutton :b Being bk to tat restaurant brought bk memories again. FYI: I used to work there in my 'younger days'. Haha... Saw some familiar faces(captains) still but forgot their names and neither do they rem me. Didn't noe they had such nice food. Most of the dishes tat we ordered are prawns juz tat they are fried with different seasoning and skin. I like a particular one which has mango in it. OMG! Can u imagine how great it tasted? I can drool juz thinking abt it. I didn't noe prawns and mango can also be a good combo. But i'm such a big MANGO fan so tat explains it :)

I even specially brought the camera to take pics. Call me clever or wat? *One eyebrow higher than the other* Haha... They also say tat i was thoughful and they nv tot of it. Took quite a number of pictures. Shall upload most prob on Sun. Ms Soh will be back next Mon. Dunno should be happy or the opposite. I was getting so used to having my own space and the entire desktop to myself. Haiz... Oh well, it's only 1 more week. I chatted abit with Julie on the way bk frm IMM. She has a son who's the same age as me and 2 daughters. Can tell tat she's rather proud of them. Her son was frm VJC, had a scholarship and is heading to US for his degree in Engrg. But he is interested in banking and hopes to get into Goldman Sach as well. Tat's y he wanna bum around at Wall's Street. Haha... So funny. Then she said one of her daughters is in ACJC and the other one is Sec 1. Hmmm... I notice one thing. Such families are usually very domineering and they wun allow a single child to be 'not successful'.

Oh yeah I had Cabonara at Breko yest again. Thanks B! I got the email today already. MS has confirmed tat my interview is on next Tuesday evening. All the best to myself :b
P/S: He doesn't belong to u, Localgal. So fuck off pls. I hate the words "my" and "ie".

Indulgence

Too much food stuffed in my face. Gosh! I had fish soup mee sua for lunch. Then, Chris said want to buy us desserts cos it's her last week. So i told her i wanted tau sua (u noe yellow beans with the you tiao). Very long nv eat tat liao. Tat's the only dessert i eat frm such food courts or hawker. I dun like ice-kachang etc... When we got bk to the office, Julie bought a box full of puo luo bao (bun with char siew fillings but the skin tastes diff) for us. She went for a seminar in the morning. I was too full to eat them. In the end, I packed home both the dessert and bun for dinner. Haha... My dad cooked abit of noodles too. And right now, i think i'm going to have an ice-cream. Hehe...

Chai Li asks me how to pronounce $412,000 after asking Chris cos apparently Chris also dunno. Can u imagine the language at my office? I wasn't exaggerating before this. This is the kind of English tat they can speak. Shao Ming juz smsed me again for clubbing. LOL... Sorry, been rejecting u everytime though it's Wed (ladies' nite). Not much kakis and hasn't been clubbing recently.

I am so happy today. Lalalala... I got a call frm MS today and asked me to go down for an interview next week. I really hope to get in now tat i'm so close to it. Pls dun let me down again. I'm praying, praying, praying...

New & Past Colleague

A new gal came into my department yest. She was supposed to take over Chris. And today, she never showed up again. Wat a joke! Haha... I was quite surprised to walk into the office today and heard tat she has quit. Vivian told me tat it wasn't the the record yet. There was another gal who came for half a day. She left during lunch w/o informing and the former manager had to call her. At least this new(old now) gal gave us a call this morn and said tat she dun wanna work anymore. Now tat i noe abt this piece of news, I am rather impressed with my own perseverence for staying on. This is my 9th week already. Next week would be the 10th and last.

My mom told me tat the date i'm going to BKK is the first of Chinese Ghost Festival month. Wished she nv told me tat. I dun wanna noe... Kinda spooky when i think abt their temples and hotels now. Hmmm... Better not think too much. Dun wanna spoil my shopping mood. My dad came to pick me up after work cos it's raining. I noe i noe, I'm so pampered and it's so nice of him. I really appreciate it (and being a princess too! Hehe...). Almost felt too pai seh to ask the favor cos he's been sending me to work every morn w/o fail. Thanks alot, Daddy! I'm once again the young little gal whom my dad will carry to my bed when i felt asleep on the couch while watching tv :) Sweet memories...

Niece

Feels so good to slack today. I went to IMM in the afternoon with my dad. Saw quite a few changes. Been a long time since i was there(though my company is so near. Haha...). Went there to get food like chicken, yong tau hu for dinner cos my cousin is coming over with his family. This means tat my cute niece is also here. -->
She has grown up quite abit since i last saw her at CNY. I also got quite a few snacks as well as sushi. Yummy... I'm really getting fat. But it's really damn shiok to lie on my bed, read and MUNCH away! Gosh... Dun be surprised when sch reopens and u guys see me. :(

Sent in my cover letter and resume for the MS internship. Hope i get it lei. It would really do good for my resume in future. Will be quite impressive esp for the banking/finance industry. It is a year-long internship whereby i gotta commit for 20 hrs/week. Think i should be able to do it given tat i manage my time well and dun let it affect my study. I'm also looking out for any offers by Goldman Sach. Anyone frm there reading this entry? (*Hint Hint*) Hehe... Anyway, Jacinta also asks me to go club the other day, Thur to be exact. Think i should gather all those who have been asking me to go club and juz go on one nite. Save all the trouble. Haha...

Suddenly i miss going to Marina Bay at nite. It is the part whereby it is a flat(ok rather bumpy actually) piece of grassland facing the stretch of Esplanade and Fullerton. Not many ppl noe abt this place. Most ppl tot tat there was no entry to it. (Rem wat we did there, B? *Evil grin*) Too bad we can't go there anymore. The govt has decided to build a cash-raking structure there. Hmmm... Memories...

Charmed

I have caught the 2 episodes of new Charmed so far. Y must stupid Mediacorp put the timing of the show at prime time hour of 8.30pm on a Friday nite? Makes it so difficult for ppl to go out. Get a life, man! Who in their right mind will stay in at home to watch Charmed on a Fri nite? I think only me. LOL... I am such a sucker for it. I still prefer the old timing at 10pm on Wed nite. Speaking of the show, I seriously wonder who exactly are their target audience. The actresses always wear until very sleazy. I admit their clothes are really nice and i'm kinda envious. But I feel as though i am looking more at boobs rather than for their real acting and the story line. It seems as though the show is catered more for lecherous men. (Anyway, should I get a tattoo of the Charmed logo? haha....)

Really happy.... I only got 2 weeks of work left. (No more Julie and invoices!! She's been asking me to do silly things these few days. I told Chris they all tat it would be my first and last time doing it.) And then it's off to Bangkok! Tat's where the real shopping starts man. I got so much stuffs to grab frm there. Anyway, B and I stumbled upon a very interesting game. It's called Huntsville. It's abt crime investigation where u search for items and then solve a puzzle so as to earn badges and ranks...

'Preliminary'

Larry, one of the QS or PM, was telling Chai Li how to spell "preliminary" today. He spelt it as "preliminery" and insisted that it was correct. He even dared Chai Li to check up the dictionary. He says spelt as 'a' also can but his was in British or American spelling or watever shit. I was laughing out loud for Chrissake. Hello... My english may not be tat powderful but i think even secondary sch kids can spell tat kind of thing already. I am very certain there is no such word w/o having to check the dictionary (But I did make a check juz to be sure i'm not wrong in my blog's entry. Haha...). Dun think tat u should come to work (mind u, he's not those toilet cleaner but those that have to lias with contractors, managers etc) with tat kind of substandard language. And he could have said he wasn't sure or something. But no, he insisted so as not to lose face i think. LOSER!!!

The longer i stayed on, the more i despise the company. The people there are really incompetent. I have yet to see a fellow undergrad or graduate there. Enough of work, I shall blog abt after work. Bumped into Wayne on the bus when I was on the way home. Such a coincidence. He is giving tuition at a house very near to my place. We talked mostly abt sch stuffs on the journey back and I alighted a stop B4 him. Shao Ming smsed me again to go Zouk tonite but very sorry, i really need some days of rest at home. Haha... Haven't really been home these few days.

Received my starhub bill today so I might as well give them a call to enquire on certain issues. The officer told me tat my plan will expires on the 14th of this month. I wanted to transfer the line to be under my name (it's currently under Him) and also redeem my reward points. She told me tat we have to go down and sign the transfer ownership form. Sian 1/2... I got no yearning to see him for the rest of my life. Guessed i'll most prob changed my number after all. I wanna get the Nokia 6280 too. Any other good phones to recommend? Shall update u guys after i sign up for my new number...

Time for my beauty therapy which consists of mask, manicure, eyebrow shaping, waxing etc. I know, I know i'm vain. Can't help it :p So tata for now...

Journalism

One thing mentioned in the book tat i'm currently reading piqued my interest. It talks abt journalism where the stories may be plagarised from else where or made up by imagination. This means tat watever conversations with interviewees or some stories somewhere could be all false. And the management even covers them all up due to editor's embarassment etc. Does this happen in real life or for tat matter, Singapore? Hmmm... Really makes me wonder whether the things i read in Straits Times and Newpaper are true. Perhaps they may be exaggerating to some extent. On the other hand, they do it so as to arouse reader's interest. But still, one should never stoop so low to obtain high readership. I would rather have a true story with some exaggeration than something which sounds so real but is false. Ok i think i'm getting confused myself now...

Work really sucks nowadays. Nothing much to do and they push all the shitty stuffs towards u. Met Eugene for lunch today. He's working at nearby IBP. Wanted to go IMM initially cos he needed to drop by Singpost. But he forgot to bring the address out and we were already driving in the opposite direction. Ended up with prata at Bukit Timah. The weather is damn hot these few days. Perspiring like mad. Really strange after the smoking ban has kicked in on 1st July. Feels kinda weird not seeing ppl smoke at coffee shops and outdoor bistros.
This pic was taken the other day, outside Taka...

Orchard Rd

I practically conquered the whole of Orchard today. Walked frm Picture House all the way to CK Tangs. Wanted to catch a movie at Picture House but most shows are fully occupied or filling up fast. It's really hard to catch a movie on weekend unless u booked in advance. Speaking of movies, I saw an article in Life! today with regards to the upcoming movie " Thank U for Smoking". They (meaning the authorities ) have changedthe original poster into a boring one with the cast posing for it. It was stated tat the original one was violating some Acts of dunno-wat law. Can't rem... Oh boy, can't they see that it is juz an advertisement for a movie? Making such a big deal out of it juz becos S'pore does not allow anything tat promotes smoking.

This was the original poster which still can be seen in cinemas and certain websites. (Taken from GV webbie)

Finally caught up with Eugene today. He has changed quite abit. No longer smoke and dun really drink nowadays. Wat a transformation, dude! Healthy lifestyle man... Tot he would be all ang moh with the complete accent and all. But no, he still can speak mandarin! Haha... FYI, he just got bk frm the US. Thanks for the body lotion frm US too. It smells great. We had dinner at KFC and a drink after tat at Giraffe. It's quite a cool place opposite of PS.

Taken frm a blogger @ http://epicurative.blogspot.com/ ( Didn't manage to take a pic myself at the Giraffe)
