Hair Cut & Color and a new bag

Dropped by United Sq Jean Yip Academy today. Had a hair cut and dye job done. Hair cut was done by professional while colouring is done by student. Cost a total of 56 which i think is damn cheap. Only thing is the colour did not come out as bright as i wanted. Oh well, i did expect it tat way so nvm. The student who served me was extremely young, only 17 years old. As usual, he had a funky hairdo, like a peacock's feathers right down the centre of his head and dyed blue. It was a pleasure chatting with him. Otherwise, my stay there would have been damn boring.

I spotted a Puma bag at Novena Sq when i juz reached around 2 plus. Was contemplating whether to buy it. Finally bought it after dinner in the evening when B has arrived. He also agrees tat the bag is nice and worth buying. So i got the approval. Haha... Couldn't decide between the black & white or the red & pink one. In the end, i got the red & pink cos i'm afraid tat white might be easily dirtied. Lihui and Darren thinks tat it's pretty cheap too at 49 bucks.

I have gotten both the bag and slippers. Hence, i should stop shopping already (theoretically. Hehe...) So shiok, these 2 weeks genes' lectures are cancelled. I feel so free and relaxed. But still, i have to read up on it cos i haven't got the slightest idea so far wat DNA etc is abt. Say so much but I have yet to get started. *sigh* Anyway, I gonna watch the channel 8 program now. Adios...

P/S: My licence turns 1 year today. Hurray!!! I dun need the stupid triangle sign anymore. Lol...

Tutorials have started

My timetable looks good rite? Haha...

Ok, so this week tutorials have started. Wasn't too bad. I got all my first choices for all the modules. First, a little recap of the weekend:

Saturday. Wanted to go for a tan (for such a long time already). The weather juz couldn't seem to cooperate. Always rain right b4 i was abt to leave the house or when i juz reached the beach. Could u believe it? I am juz so damn suay. Therefore, we ended up at Parkway Parade. Most of the stores seem to be having sale. I have no idea why but i was more than happy already. Juz a bit :( tat i didn't buy alot. LOL... I only managed to get a singlet ($13) frm Esprit and a pair of slippers ($17) frm Charles & Keith. Freaking cheap man...

Sunday. Watched Taiwan drama starring Rainie Yang. (Hope i spelt her name correctly.) Thanks Lihui for lending me the DVDs. It's really funny and romantic. Met Shawn at nite. We wanted to witness the Mars being very close to the moon. However, the sky was so cloudy tat few stars were barely visible. Thus, we weren't able to see any occurrance of the moon & mars. Lucky for me though, cos i didn't bring my cam. Otherwise, i would have missed taking a pic of such an awesome scenary.

Monday. Watched the remaining episodes of the Taiwan drama. Completed 20 episodes within 2 days. Am i nuts or wat? Actually i wanted to go for a run in the evening but my bro was the one who insisted on finishing the show. He's a true blue fan of Rainie. Haha... So i laid on bro's bed the entire day, juz watching the show. (My comp couldn't run the dvds) It wasn't too bad, only tat i feel so so so fat. Argh...

Today. Hmmm... I gotta go sch on Tues frm now on cos of tutorials. The frenz in my tutorial grps seem ok. Already formed grps for projects & assignment for my language and MA classes. So coincidentally, Marcus (frm last sem OM class) is in the same class as me for MA & MS. Said i stalked him (kns). He should be the one stalking me cos i'm earlier than him for both classes. Alright, gotta catch up with my sch stuffs now. Enough of slacking over the past few days...

Candle in the wind

Dun u think life is juz like a candle? It could be so strong at times and weak at others. May flickers when there's breeze and die out when there's a strong gust of wind. Hmmm... Dun get wat i'm saying? Nvm... I'm talking rubbish again. Today is the last day of the funeral. It's a closed chapter now.

Really admire my aunt. She's been so composed and cool throughout this wake. Was expecting at least some weeping but no. She was all smiles and chatting with all of us like usual. But i think this might be worse, cos deep down she might be brawling her heart out. I rather she let it all out. But then again, I dunno her tat well. Perhaps she's ready to let go and free my uncle frm all the pain. As for me, I have been fighting back my tears for the past 4 days only to drop tears today as we were kneeling by the coffin and abt to push it into the van. I think i would have broken down if i was in my aunt's position.

Anyway, here's a food for thought: Are those paper houses, paper merc etc gimmicks for business? I think those funeral planners do make tons of money. A mere paper house or car costs well over hundred. For goodness sake, i already emphasized tat it is made of paper. Dun they ought to have some sympathy and not charge such exorbitant price under such circumstances? The families are grief-stricken enough and yet they have to be extorted frm. I understand tat the funeral planners are also trying to earn a living here. Couldn't they have charge abit cheaper? And i wonder if the dead really can receive the money, houses and car after we have burnt them... Such a controversy here...

2nd uncle

Juz got home frm the funeral. My uncle has passed away this morn (Sun morn). I'm glad i went to see him for the last time on Sat nite. All of us already saw this coming so it was easier for us to accept. It wasn't one of those soap operas where everyone was crying their eyes out (thank goodness). Otherwise, I would be crying buckets as well. Anyhow, a moment of silence for my beloved Uncle pls. Thus, I have been helping out since i woke up this afternoon (hehe...).

The procession for cremation will be held on Thurs. Doubt I can make it though cos I have 2 lectures tat day. Hmmm... I'll see how it goes. Difficult for me to miss Genes lect cos I am already damn lost. Seriously tot of dropping it or S/U. I haven't got the slightest idea as to how biology works. The lecturer talks as though all of us have some bio background. But i only took before pure physics and chem. Hence, I really having problems to catch hold of the ball.

Been lazy to blog since sch has reopened. This explains the lapse in days. haha... By right, I should have started on my tutorials considering how i always like a head-start. But right now, I'm still in a daze or rather still in holiday mood. Lol... Well, I shall go rest already. Kinda tired after such a long day...

Another cute nephew. Oh no... I feel so old. Imagine a generation gap away...

New member

Welcome Xiao xin (named and bought by a-hem) into the family! He's a new addition who juz came in yest. Got it at Jurong Point's pet shop. He's 3 weeks old already. He's damn cute, so small size and a lil' blur. But he's a big eater though. Shall update more abt him in future.

Today is the first day of sch. It's refreshing to be back in sch after such a long time. Had MS lect with Cheng wei and went off for lunch with her. Met up with Jason after tat since i got 2 hours to kill. He's gotten a pair of gray lens. It's cool, mate. Thanks for helping me find the locations of my gene lect. We practically walked around the whole of Science blocks. I was sweating like mad in the hot weather. Alright, shall update more abt sch again. Tat's all for now...

Post NDP jokes

I noe it's been like almost a week since NDP has passed. But still i gotta bring it up cos it's juz too funny. My parents were at the stadium to watch the last ceremony held there. Now then i realise tat my parents are far cuter than wat i expected. U noe how we have to stand at attention during national anthem rite? My mom was telling us tat my dad actually waved the small S'pore flag tat they were given while the national song was being played. Imagine my dad was the only one doing tat among the thousands present. Lol... He truly loves the country man.

My dad wore white shirt tat day and my mom told him tat he should go sit together with the ministers. Haha... Then, my mom complained tat there was no shade and it was humid. Dad also told mom the same thing: She can join the ministers and sit under the shade. Of cos my mom declined. Wahaha... U can tell how much my mom luvs the 'cabinet'. Need I say more? Haha... I was practically rolling on the floor laughing off my ass.

Anyway, my mom was complaining to my aunts and uncles yest tat i was driving too fast. My god, u call 100k/h fast? I am speechless. Nothing i could say to defend myself. My dad sides with me though. He even asks me to go faster (but tat was at a merging lane. Haha). Think my mom would faint if she was sitting in B's car. Haa...

A word of advice to everyone out there: Nv take a loan for someone else even though he/she may be the guarantor. Keep in mind tat u r still the primary borrower. It's juz far too troublesome... I'm good enough an example so dun follow my footsteps...

Annie's 21st

It's my cousin's, Annie, 21st birthday today. Surprisingly

, this is the first 21st celebration tat i attended. Most of my other frenz either juz celebrate with their closed ones (i meant immediate family) or with bf/gf. I got her Anna Sui Dolly girl parfum. I think tat it's rather cute and nice. Haha... Happy birthday, Annie!

Nothing much to do there but juz eat. My bro's right, I gotta run another round more with all those food. But who cares? Haha... The choc cheese cake was great. It was baked by her future mother-in-law. Gotta say i'm impressed (envy is more like it :p) tat both her future in-laws turned up for the event even though her bf is not around. Her bf is in Aust studying for 2 years. Heard they ferry her to and fro the hospital as well. (P/S: They drive Lexus and heard they live in landed property too. Another rich family. *sigh* When is it my turn? <-- wishful thinking)Wow... Not married or even engaged and yet she has already won over both her in-laws. Y do i hear others complaining abt cohabiting with the in-laws, esp mother-in-law, though? Hmmm... Seems like it's not the case here. Amazing... Anyway, she's been with her bf since JC.

Packing & Tidying

Sch's starting next week so 'old things gotta go to make space for new ones'. Haha... I have packed those books that are to be sold into paper bags so that I will have an easier time when I need to bring them to sch. Need the space on my shelves for this coming semester's books. Thus, I have to get rid of the old ones constantly every sem. It has become a ritual to be performed every sem b4 sch starts. As u can see, I seldom keep my old notes unless i find it absolutely necessary.

I also packed my cupboard today. All the new clothes that I have bought recently are yet to be taken out of their nice packaging. There's simply no space in my cupboard already. I can see the rod holding all the hangers slanted, falling off anytime again (FYI: It has happened b4). Haha... Hence, I took out the working wear and hung them in my dad's cupboard since I wun need them for the time being. Borrow some space frm my dad cos he only needs 1/3 of his cupboard. Lol... Also took out the clothes tat i dun wear or cannot fit into anymore (yes, told u tat i grew fat already:( ) to give to other ppl or throw away. Hehe...

After tat, I went for a run with my bro. I tot my stamina was bad enough but my bro's worse. *chuckles* Many surprises today cos these are things tat i seldom do. I'm juz a lazy gal... *Yawn*

I wonder if i did the right thing in taking "Nature of Language". Project, participation & 2 mid-term tests already made up 70%. I'm worried abt the project cos there are only 35 ppl in the goddamn module. How do u form groups with all 35 ppl spread out in so many tutorial slots? The exams & tests are open-book so all the more i think tat it is harder to score. The papers will tend to be harder and no doubt with only 35 ppl, it's a matter of either live or death. The timetable is giving me a headache again. After getting all my mods, now i gotta brood over the tutorial time slots. All becos i wanted a 3-day week. LOL... Trying to compromise and coordinate with CW and frenz too. Arghhh... I hate NUS bidding system. Period.

Orchard Again

Another lazy afternoon spent at Orchard. Haha... Met up with Cheng Wei to shop this afternoon. Must mention tat I have ran into a good kaki. She's another shopaholic just like me, if not better. Lol... We did not sit down to rest at all (i did steal some moments of resting while CW tried on some shoes or clothes though. Hehe...). At the end of the day, she carried more shopping bags than me. And I noticed tat CW really likes black alot. Haha... Almost everything tat CW picks is black in color. So let me recap: We shopped at Wisma, Taka, Paragon and Heeren.

I bought 3 tops in total. One frm Yin & Yang, another frm Zara and not forgetting my faithfully Mng. It was fun trying out different tops in the fitting rooms with CW. Gave each other opinions and comments. Managed to find the pink Mng spagh top tat i have been scouting around for. But i did not buy tat and settled for another velvety spagh top instead. I should be all ready for sch less a comfortable pair of slippers and a new bag though. =p Hehe... So to conclude, I had a fun day shopping with CW. We shall do it again soon k, gal?

Anyway Jason, looks like we aren't fated to have common non-core mods this sem. I got all my 5 mods already. U plan so late and only called me this afternoon! Haha... I noe i noe, u r busy with the rag thingy. Hope it goes well for u. Shall go for lunch one of the days after sch reopens k...

Mango Jacket

Went Orchard again today with Dian. I bought some more nail polish and manicure stuffs. Intro Dian to the diamonds studs. Didn't noe she is into such things before this. So right now, I'm painting my toe nails while blogging. Can't wait to try the new gem stones. Hehe... Yeah I'm a self-confessed vainpot. We had dinner (Western) at one of the stores on the highest level of Far East.

Was looking for the pink spagh top i saw with Carisse at Mango the other day. But i got no luck, there's no more XS. It's ok cos I still managed to grab a brown Mango jacket. As u can tell, i'm clothed frm head to toe with Mango apparels and accessories. There's definitely at least 1 MNG item on/with me at any one time. Hehe... It's a fact tat i'm proud of.

Dian got me some almond flake biscuits, gums, a pen and bookmark frm HK. I like the bookmark cos it's specially engraved with my name. We were like exchanging presents cos I got her a T-shirt and some sweets frm Thai. My mom asked me y Dian is my best fren and i could get along with her so well. I got no ans to tat though. It's juz tat we have known each other since sec sch days and it's the chemistry bah... :)

Hospital

Had dinner with my family at Jurong East this evening. We headed to hospital to visit my uncle after tat. He's been in and out of the hospital recently. Last time i saw him was CNY. He has really thinned down alot and looks very ill & weak. Dunno whether he still recognised me. When I called him, he juz stared at me. My mom told him who I am and he juz nodded.

Haiz... It's only times like these when ppl realise the meaning of life once again. To be truthful, I do fear growing old and the thought of death frightens me. ALOT. I hate going to the hospital and it's been years since I last attended a funeral. When I was young, it still wasn't so bad cos i do not understand the meaning of death then.

It's really tearful to see my uncle suffering like this. Although we might not be very close, I still feel my heart going out for him. He's still worried abt many stuffs like my cousin's quarrels with his wife, wat my aunt gonna do after he left etc. It's juz too painful. Seriously, I wish everyone can juz die peacefully in their sleep one day and need not go thru such agony. The doc said he had abt 1 year+ at the most cos his liver had collapsed. He also has diabetics. Praying hard for his recovery...

Shopping & Clubbing

Went Orchard yest with Carisse. She gotta go off early cos her aunt was admitted into the hospital. Hope she's doing ok. Although it wasn't a long trip, I bought quite a few things. Got some crystal diamonds, small flower designs, nail glue and enamel frm Far East for 10 over bucks. Can tell I'm such a manicure/pedicure freak already. Hehe... I simply love to decorate my nails. Can't stand them being naked.

Then I got a small pouch for my hp frm Mango. Costs me $15 for tat. Kinda exp but i like it and i think it's gonna come in real handy. Saw the tee-shirt i got frm Thai Mango. My top is crystallised with the fonts 'MNG'. However, the ones in S'pore are spelt 'MANGO' in full. I know mine is unique but I hope ppl wun mistake me as sporting a fake Mango top. I bought mine slighty more expensive some more. So far I have yet to see any Mango imitation. This is definitely one fake good i'll nv buy. Carisse wanted to get a wallet as well frm Mango. But the other outlets dun come in the brown color tat she wants. The only outlet tat carries it is the one at Shaw. However, we have already walked far away frm it.

We went on to shop in Wisma and Taka. I got a skirt frm Zara for only $9.90! The actual price is $19.90 but the cashier keyed in wrongly. Haha... I also nv realise it until I got home. I juz blankly signed the receipt w/o even glancing at the cost. Wat a bargain! Made up for my pricey hp pounch already. Oh and I found a donut store in Taka basement tat could make up for Dunkin' Donuts in BKK. Haha... There is quite a big selection as well and they taste okay...

Went back home for dinner and then watched my Charmed and the last episode of the Channel 8 show- 0 degrees C. After tat, it's off to clubbing with Yong Sheng and gang at Double O. I did ask SM this time round but he said he would be at Zouk again. I had fun and let my hair loose. Great to club before sch reopens. Otherwise, i might not have time to spare in future. YS was really nice to chaffeur all 5 of us back. Thanks bro!

Spent the whole of today juz lazing around and getting fat. LOL... It's eating then sleeping then eat again. Haha... I'm thoroughly enjoying the last of my holidays. It's 1 more week b4 sch starts again....

Study Loan

Dropped by campus to execute the study loan today. At the end of it all, i still dun understand the 90 and 80%. Think gotta make some enquiries abt. My driving and parking are still atrocious. Wahaha... Nv say i wanted to drive cos i was unfamiliar as to where to park near YIH. But Daddy juz handed me the keys so no argument abt it. Daddy helped me park at sch but i managed to park bk at my blk. My cutting of lanes esp frm those filter lanes was pretty abrupt. Haha... I'm the queen of the road. Wat can u do? *cheeky grin*

Thanks Carisse for your concern too. I'm okay, so no worries abt it. U r really my bestest (if there is ever such a word) fren frm NUS. It's my honor to have known u since Year 1. I'm looking fwd to our shopping trip tmr. Hehe... I haven't spend enough yet frm Thai. See ya tmr. Love & Hugz to all my frenz...

Bonkers

He's right. I realise i'm going out of my mind too. Wat was i thinking man? Hmmm... it's ok. Better late than never. I dun need other's sympathy. Therefore, I shall not wallow in self-pity in the first place.

Mom's right. My skin is so thick in many aspects. The ans was pretty obvious already and still i gotta email MS to confirm. Yet another disappointment...

Sorry SM to reject u again. This must be the 8th time since u said the previous was 7th. Haha... Really not in the mood to go clubbing though i do need the alcohol and crazy dancing. Think i'll shi tai if i go, so better not. Haha... Next time then i jio u, dude...

Bidding for many things

Got MA, MS and MIE. 2 more mods to bid for. This sem's timings totally suck. Gave up biz com at the last min cos the points were just too high. Means tat i still have my 3-day week. Glad tat sch is starting and there's something to keep me occupied and keep my mind frm running wild and bonkers.

Perhaps we really do take ppl for granted after u have known each other for such a long time. Esp when tat person is always there and u think tat he or she will continue to be. It's only when the person is gone then u start to appreciate/cherish cos u find tat u can't do w/o him or her. By then, it's too late. U are right, it's nv enough. Tat's how the story always goes... Yes, I should be immune to it by now. Am I?

Swear tat i'll work hard this sem. I'm not gonna give myself up or show the white flag but i'm resigned to fate this time round. I wanna be a suvivor and not casualty. At least good results will be a fantastic present for my 21st this year. Even if there is nobody there to celebrate with me, I shall still hold my head high. No, I'm not holding any grand party. My wish is juz to spend quality time with my loved one. Thou shall not say more...
