Addicted to Facebook

I have been addicted to this Facebook application over the past few days. This is my pet. Come pet and/or feed it! Haha... Can't believe Keith and I were discussing over the phone on strategies to bet on the races of these fluff animals. So infuriating... Always win then lose, end up still the same. I think it's this gambling element which hooked people to it. Haha... I wanna increase my speed also! And I got Dear to adopt a pet too. Muahaha...

Anyway, people said that I have been enjoying life. No more exams and always slacking at home. Haha... Shouldn't I enjoy myself before I start work for the rest of my life? But I have been rather bored at home, to the extent of playing my Hula Hoop (I also wanna slim down lah. Haha...)

Luckily, Dear's exam is ending today. I'm meeting him for dinner later. Think I'll go for a run first after work. But the weather doesn't look too good now. Hopefully it doesn't rain. Am blogging here at work again. Hehe...

School's over!

That's it! School is officially over. Took my last Biz Policy paper today when it's the first paper for many ppl. Didn't even give me a chance to go to the multi-purpose sports hall one last time. Both my IA and biz policy papers were in biz LTs. (Thank U, Weijing, for lending me the IA text this sem). Many ppl wished me "Happy Graduation" this morning. I felt a pang though. No more books for me... Mostly I guess it's because I'm apprehensive about stepping into the working world next.

Speaking of which, I have spoken to the COO and he offered me the biz support executive job at a pay higher than what was offered by the manager initially. But still it's the average salary of a fresh grad bah. Nothing extraordinary. I have until 3rd or 4th Dec to decide. Good point is that the job sounds manageable, a stepping stone for my analyst job in future and it's so close to my house. Daddy even says I could drive to work, only have to help him pump petrol in future. Bad point is that it is a relatively small company (recently became a subsidiary of DBS) and doesn't look like there's much prospects. Most ppl told me take up this job and run after 1-2 year(s). Hmmm... I still can't make up my mind. Oh well, I have about a week to think about this...

Family Gathering

Dearie came over to study together yest :)

Anyway, attended a family gathering today. Dearie, U missed out on good food again (He couldn't make it cos he got too much to study for his 22nd and 23rd papers). Chinese food and Halah food (pic above this). Eh nope, no Malay but we just wanted to try out more variety. Cater for 80 people worth of food lor. More than 80 ppl turned up. U can imagine how big my family is (and it's only my mom's side). The purpose of this gathering is because the house is gonna be sold next week. Therefore, this is the last gathering at this house where there are many childhood memories. This was where I spent many of my Sundays when I was a kid, playing with my cousins. But I still remember the horrible experience of a huge dog pouncing at me when I ran past one of the neighbour's houses. Memories oh memories...

Now, everyone is grown-up alr. 2 cousins getting married next year. Doc cousin getting married on Dear's bday next year (church wedding). Another cousin, personal banker, also holding her wedding dinner next year end. They were talking about the planning just now. I guess marriage is really not an easy task. To think that you actually had to plan a year in advance. And a table at some decent hotel easily costs around 1k. Really takes a lot to build a family. Both financially and emotionally...

Last lesson of my Varsity life

Was almost half an hour late for my last class (IA) today. I left the house late and dropped by Central Library to return Josh's books. Supposed to present a project. But Sheryl and Hong Choo presented for me as my part was only like 4 slides. Thanks, peeps. Hmmm... So, this is it. This marks the end of my uni life. 2.5 years over just like this. Seriously, I'm going to miss school and all my dearest frenz. No more thunderous laughter from Yufen and gossiping in class with Carisse. No more meeting up with Jason, CW and Jay for lunch in sch. No more going home together with Joshie. I'm going to miss everyone and everything! Must meet up outside in future k?

P/S: I just noticed that the colors of our clothings are so matching. Lol...

Received a compliment from a customer yest. He emailed my supervisor thanking our helpfulness and retrieving information for him asap. My sup forwarded the email to other supervisor, colleagues and manager, stating that I was the one who anwered the call. Haha... Actually I didn't do much, juz did what was expected of my duties. Surprised that I did not receive complaints instead (I did raise my voice at customers at times when they started venting anger on us). My sup has been very nice. I know he was the one recommending me for the perm job. He has arranged for me to speak to the COO next Tue. Shall see how that goes...

Nevertheless, such a simple compliment actually made my day. I find pleasure in little little things these days. I got to admit that I'm even enjoying my current customer service job. Some ppl are worrying that I might do this full-time. Dun think I will bah. Smack me if I do. Haha... For the first time in my life, I'm not complaining anymore. I want to enjoy my life as much as possible =)

Ok, need to study now. After next Thur and Sat's exams, I shall be done with school!

Sick

Not feeling too well the past few days. Down with cough and flu. Visited the doc yest. Speaking of yest, I have gone for the HSBC Personal Banker talk. Saw a few of my fellow NUS mates at the talk. Some people there are older though. They want a change of job. Sales really dun need relevant knowledge and experience one lor. Some of them are from Science, Arts etc. I'm seriously not into sales lah! Haiz... Still searching for job.

I worked yest evening too as they were short-handed. It's really funny. When U are free, U are extremely free from calls/work. But yest, it was super busy. Only sup and me answering calls. When he went out to smoke, I'm left to answer calls all by myself. And it's really superstitious at the workplace. U cannot say no call etc otherwise U will get bombarded by calls the next second. Yest, I was casually mentioning to my coll that there was no card stuck case for the day. The phone immediately beeped and here comes my card stuck case. That's not the end of it. 3 consecutive cases of card stuck in machines. Lol... AXS offered me a full-time job as Business Support Executive. Job title doesn't sound too bad, but basically it's just doing shitty work and the pay is rather low. I'm not quite interested...

Overslept today. Blur me forgot to set alarm again last nite (Plus I think the medicine made me drowsy). Supposed to go work at 8am lor. I woke up at 11.30am. Practically jumped out of my bed but it was too late anyway. Daddy didn't wake me up cos he tot I was sick and resting. Hmmm... Better make sure I can wake up tmr for work. Not nice to have to too many no-show. I'm simply not a morning person. Dunno how I'm gonna wake up for work everyday in future. I'm really amazed at how Dear can wake up so early every morning. His latest is like 10am. But he takes many naps in the day. Haha...

Bored @ Work

I'm so bored at work now that I'm blogging here. Haha... Very few calls on Sunday. I have finished surfing Facebook, reading blogs and news. *Yawn* I wanna fall asleep alr. Dearie is at his cousin's wedding lunch.

Haven't been productive this weekend. Only finished the Universe report with Jason. I have yet to start studying for the exams. Left with 2 modules - Investment Analysis and Business Policy. Everyone around me seems to be studying though (esp those NTU ppl cos their exams start earlier).

I'm having sore throat :[ Please dun let me fall sick at this moment. Next week is gonna be a packed week. Going sch tmr even though it's juz other groups' presenting (since it's my 2nd last lesson of my life. Lol!), HSBC on Tue, working on both Wed and Thur(8am!!!), my very last lesson on Fri (!!!) , then working again on Sat and HSBC/family buffet on Sun...

Deepavali

I have watched Saw IV today! Worried that it might not be screening by the time our exams end, Dear & I decided to catch the show the very first day that it comes into cinema. Haha... Kiasu right? Anyway, I didn't really understand some parts of the story as usual. Dear explained to me even though he didn't watch some of the previous Saw. Haa... I'm lousy lah. Only know moral of the story: Patience is the key to everything.We had dinner at MFM (Seafood platter). Saw Wei Sheng there. Didn't know that he's working as a supervisor there. Hence, we had VIP discount. Hehe... We even got a sticker for future discount. Thanks, WS!

Been working the past 2 days. Guys at my workplace are acting weird. Someone (I dun even noe him) offered to send me home. Mommy says nv accept rides from strangers. Hahaha... Kidding lah. My supervisor is celebrating his bday at Dragonfly this Saturday. Dun think I'm going but I haven't msg him yet. Can't wait for Jac to join the company.

I have been invited to a HSBC talk next Tue. Very hesitant lei cos the job is Personal Banker. Guess I'll juz go listen to what they have to say since it wasn't easy for me to pass the numerical and verbal test. Haha... Had a heart-to-heart talk with the OCBC interviewers this week. Although the interview wasn't successful, I'm glad that I had a good talk with the people. Once again, it boils down to what I really want at the end of the day. Haiz... Even they also can tell that sales is not my cup of tea (That job is Personal Financial Consultant). They told me to pursue what I really want and like. But I thought it's good to gain some experience in other areas first mah. Hmmm... Let me think deeper bah. At the same time, I also need to gain more financial knowledge with regards to the current affairs...

Nobody said that it's going to be easy...

Dun worry about me dear! I'm ok. Conc on ur studies. I can't wait for our Bangkok trip :p

Caught up a bit with Marcus. So coincidental last nite I was juz talking to him on msn and today he sat beside me in the comp lab. He has broken up with his Korean gf. Said that she has graduated and has an apartment outside. They used to be together almost 24/7 (if they got no classes) cos both are staying in hall and they would sleep over at either's room every night. So now the gf somehow could not take it being apart. Hmmm I guess it's not a good thing to be very sticky. Both parties should still be able to function independently. Oh well... It does take loads of effort to make things work and in a relationship, U need 2 hands to clap...

Attended CFA Ethics talk yest morn with Carisse. It was so boring that Carisse and I were chatting most of the time and we left during the break. Had lunch in school then I headed to work. Met Dear at JE after I knocked off in the evening. We went library to study and then Cafe Cartel at night. Haha...

I had a blast!

Sumptuous dinner at Kushinbo. It's my first time there. The business is really good. Many ppl queueing. Luckily, Dear made reservation :) Oh look at those salmon! I had loads of them. And softshell crab too! We had approximately 7-8 rounds of serving. Buffet style, so must eat as much as you can mah. The pic above is just the first round. We were too caught up with eating after that so no more pics of food...

Dearie hard at work. Lol... Conscientiously peeling the shell of prawns and crabs for me. Isn't it soooo sweet? Hee... Thanks a lot, Dear!

After that, headed to St James Powerhouse to meet my 3 J's (Josh, Jac and Jay). Seemed so long since we last club. Even my supervisor also showed up. But not as happening anymore lei. Think it's difficult to achieve the totally-put-your-hair-down kind of feeling already. Dun even get the kick on podium last night. Nevertheless, thanks for giving me so much face, guys. Understand that U have classes today some more. Hope U guys were able wake up. Haha... Anyway, 3 old men @ Powerhouse asked whether I'm Ericia Lee. Honestly, I'm getting pretty sick of it. Old men, U need those long-sighted glasses lah. Usually people only comment that I look like her but this time ppl actually thought that I am her! Absurd...

Had a wonderful birthday this year. I feel that my life is perfect at the moment. I have my dearest family, my close frenz and my Dear who dotes on me. Awww... Feel so blissful. What more can I ask for?
