Movies and Shopping

I have watched "Protege"(@ Vivo) and "Just follow Law"(@ JP) over the past few days. And being the last Fri of the month, Dian and I went shopping at Bugis juz now. Dian was suddenly very interested in nail arts. She even wants to enrol in some nail arts course at IMM. I surprised myself again without any purchase despite being richer (cos of the ang baos). Felt like splurging but there really wasn't anything nice for me to buy. Saw that M)phosis was having a sale but it was closed by then.

My own manicure. Wanted to do at the shop juz now but it was closing already(Bloody hell! It closed at 8pm which is super early lah). Dun ask me y only the 4th finger got flower. I juz love~ to design more on the wedding band finger...

Think I'm gonna be dead meat again. 2 Finance tests next week which constitute 30 and 40% but I have yet to touch my notes. Haven even printed some of the notes :p I'm glad that I have at least completed the Corp Fin assignment.
Tell me how am I supposed to go abt studying for Islamic Banking? I dun understand Malay words lah!

2nd & 3rd day of CNY

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
I am all dolled up for visiting : )
Received many compliments for my dress throughout the day. (Rem the pic of the "cheena" dress I posted abt a month back?) Hehe... My doc cousin's gf even asked where I got it and said I was stylist. Well, accessories are important lah. The dress can be used on formal functions, normal going-out and even for cheong-ing. Haha... Multi-purpose!

My super cute niece (Part 1 - I was over at their place.) She's simply adorable. Always bluffing ppl by stretching out to give them some food but she will eventually retract and eat the food herself.
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
How can anyone ever forget my pineapple tarts? No way! Haha... I was having the entire bottle to myself while playing MJ. Ppl keeps asking me what's the secret of staying so slim despite eating so much junk food. There's really no secret lah. Eat to the fullest! Haiz... Visiting is getting so routine. CNY is so boring sia...

Yest was record-breaking though. Most of my cousins brought their other halves, some of whom I have nv seen before in previous CNY. Only my bro, me and another cousin did not bring anyone. Wat a change man. We used to be the ones with steady partners. The rest of them started the talk on getting flats and marriage etc. They belong to the modern generation. Wanna get away without the customary wedding but doubt my family will allow lah since they are still so traditional. My niece (but older than me) ROM last mth and she kept it so hush-hush that nobody in our family noe. Next ROM is expected in July. Scary man! Everyone around me is getting attached, engaged or married. Can't stand it lah! Anyway, I left earlier in a cab...

Tat's y I refused to go my doc cousin's house today. My parents and bro are there rite now. No dinner for me :(

Cute niece (Part 2 - She came over to my place today)

P/S: Thanks for being there for me when I need a listening ear or a shoulder to cry on (u noe who u r).

Lunar New Year

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Our reunion dinner. Had steamboat, satay, Yu Sheng etc...
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Our 3 families eating together. Do u noe which is my mom? Ppl say we look alike... Hehe...
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Went over to Mediacorp after dinner for the countdown show. It's a different feeling from watching on TV definitely. We got a goodies bag each too. Contains 2 cans of beer, an energy drink, herbal sweet, choco, red packets, coupons etc...
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Close-up of Kym Ng. She was walking down the aisle next to me... Pan Ling Ling's family was sitting in the row behind me. So she and Huang Shi Nan kept coming up to pass them goodies etc.
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
My fav pic- Elvin Ng! So handsome rite? But kinda beng. Lol...
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Felicia Chin - She's the most friendly celeb there. The other stars had already went backstage but she stayed back to take photos and wished us Happy New Year. I was so close to taking a pic with her then the usher asked her to go backstage as they were closing up the theatre already.

I'm amazed that we walked about 6km frm Mediacorp to Serangoon. Unbelievable but we did it! Haha... I'm impressed by myself.

FM Presentation

Had our FM presentation today. Surprisingly, we got positive feedback from our lecturer. She was rather happy with our presentation and said that she could tell we put in loads of effort. I tot that we were juz average. I was perspiring like mad in the long-sleeve shirt though. Seldom wear T-shirt and yet I gotta wear a long-sleeve shirt. Anyway, here are some of the pics taken today:

Notice my brown lens? Jason was wearing grey lens. Felt abit uncomfy in my right eye lei...
Korin and me...

Our entire group with the lecturer - Meijun. The 2 angmohs are Fabian and Max. They are damn funny and interesting. Fabian got drunk in broad daylight at Sentosa. Said he was lying under a shade when he knocked out but woke up under the sun. Hence, he got a terrible sunburnt. Max has been hooking up at Dbl O. I always tot foreign students dun really travel around much. But they seem so familiar with this place alr. And Fabian is always travelling to other Asian countries like Thailand, Indonesia etc over the weekends. He told us he is going India next week during our mid-term.

It's been cool working with u ppl. Great job, guys!

Wat happened to this week's episode of Prison Break??? I'm dying w/o it...

Gone and Back

Went JB with Eugene this evening. He dun allow me to post anything regarding him liao : ( So no pics of him. It was a very impromptu thingy. He wanted to wax/polish his car for CNY and those in S'pore are fully booked.

He changed his car seats to red color. Not tat I noticed lah. Haha...
I can't help but take a pic of such a big Mango poster. How come S'pore dun have one? So sad... Anyway, his windscreen was kinda tinted or something so the pic is abit blur.
We had dinner at this Hong Kong Cafe at Holiday Plaza (his recommendation). Think we ate quite a lot for 2 people. Both of us were so bloated after dinner. We had French toast, Jap tofu and he had some pork rib rice or something while I had cheese baked rice with pork fillet. Awesome... All tasted so good. Wat a way to spend Valentine! Lol... Not tat we r celebrating lah. I dun mind a getaway frm the city. In fact, it feels as though I was on a short holiday.
Look at this enormous jar (yes not cup!) of Mango milkshake! I had this all by myself. Eugene had lemon tea instead. Very delicious with the real fruit in it some more. I couldn't finish it lah. Da pao back and I'm still drinking it as I'm typing rite now. Can u believe it?

Wanted to meet Step once again. It's been well over a year since I last saw her. But she was jammed at the custom of S'pore then said she wasn't driving today so not convenient to meet. I miss u gal! Must meet up real soon. Prob might go in again after CNY to shop. Didn't really had time to shop today.

P/S: Ur driving can really be compared to those Malaysians, Eugene. Lol... Now I understand y U always go Sepang or KL...

Over-commercialised Valentine

Jason shared with me this video. Sweet song which I believe most of us have heard b4 (and to commemorate Selena). Fairy tales always exist in stories and movies only. I told Jason that dun think I'll ever celebrate Valentine anymore even if I have a bf in future. It's juz a day for businesses such as florists, restaurants to profit. So over-commercialised! Now I understand y u would rather give me flowers on any other day but Valentine (but got jealous when someone else gave me flowers on that day. Lol...). It's not juz the money but every other gal would be holding a bouquet on the street and it won't be special anymore. When u r with ur other half, any other day could also be Valentine lor...

To me, flowers will juz wither and die. It's a waste of money (like how I always told u in the past). Still haven got down to clearing my sofa which is full of flowers, be it fake or real. Hmmm... Getting real dusty. Haha... I prefer things that are practical where they are more useful. I guess flowers could come along occasionally to perk gals up but not too often. Otherwise, it would become a norm and flowers will lose the ability to brighten a gal's day.

I rem last year I was helping Jason to sell roses outside Bizad Club at this time of the day. How pathetic was that... This year, I managed to stay at home. It's not that I dun wanna go out with u guys. The reason is same as not going out for New Year countdown. So yeah dun take it the wrong way as rejection for some ppl out there (u noe who u r. Dun forget u said that we would be frenz 4ever so stop kicking up a fuss every now and then. U r juz draining my energy). I would gladly go out on any other day.

The thing significant to me is not Valentine but the day after it bah. I brought my bf home for the first time. Do u still rem, J? Well, for me I do. U convinced me that U r the ONE. My mom was holding a "CNY get-together" and all my relatives were here. U impressed me by being able to deal with so many unfamiliar faces that U have nv seen b4. Time really flies...

Jason asked y dun I look beyond my circle, which is to go beyond my choices of suitors since I dun have a choice as to who woo me. But I could have chosen the guy whom I wish to noe. Cos he said that nowadays gals are very pro-active and they would have taken up all the good guys. Hence, the guys left to woo me might not be of good calibre. I guess it's juz not me to ever approach guys bah. I'm not those type to take initiative and my thinking is still old-fashioned. I choose to believe that my Mr Right is still out there but we juz haven met...

Gonna R&R soon with my Cleo and chocs. Super tired yest. Went queensway, ran in the evening then do my analysis for the questionnaire till very late last nite. Shall update (hopefully with pics of my brown lens) real soon...

Working Hard

It's been quite a fruitful weekend (with no disturbance from both *). I managed to go thru the Corp Fin assignment. Left the Excel problems and last page which I think the Prof has yet to teach. Has anyone else done it? Yufen? Let me noe k, I wanna compare ans lei... I can get really engrossed with Finance. I started doing after watching the Jacky Wu variety show last nite. By the time I looked up at the clock, it was 3am! Good gracious me! Ok, in between there was some chatting on msn. But I didn't realise time passes so fast when I'm hard at work. I bet I would have fallen asleep if I were reading my other module notes like Supply Chain and APB. Makes me happy that I didn't choose the wrong major.

I'm trying to clear up my workload b4 the term break so I can get to enjoy at least a teeny-weeny bit. Done up the Financial Market powerpoint for my coming presentation too. See I so no life, stayed home almost the entire weekend to do my stuffs. My life is not as happening as some of u think can... It's not like I club every week or wat. Haha...

Had dinner at Fish & Co. at Bugis juz now. Super Yucky! Look at wat I had:

It's called Coridian Spaghetti (hope I didn't spell it wrongly). Dun ever try it, ppl. The green sickly sauce made me lose my appetite already. It's got to be the most awful pasta I ever had. The taste is juz un-describable. So much for trying out a new dish instead of having my usual Fish & Chips. Next time, I'll swear by Fish & Chips already. I didn't finish the pasta (left tat much of it as seen in the pic). Ordered mussels. I simply love^1000 the butter and garlic sauce. Wat a world of difference frm the the Coridian sauce! I finished sipping the entire sauce. So shiok! Lol... He asked if I was having orgasm juz by sipping the sauce. Mayb close lah. Haha...

Sickening... Tmr class at 9 again. I wish I could trade one of my free days for an off on Mon. Hate sch on Mon. I'm like dragging my feet across campus on this hateful day of every week. Oh well lucky it's the last Mon of this term. Look fwd to my 1-week break but not CNY lei. Mayb this excitement juz wears off with age. I used to be very excited abt New Year. Gosh... I'm getting old!

Realise tat I need to find someone whom I can seriously settle down with if I wanna get married at 24 or 25. Cos I dun wish to rush into marriage so mayb date for 2 to 3 years first. Nv think so far in the past. Seems kinda scary to me now. Wat if I can't find the right one by then? Haiz... For once, I'm glad that my birthday is toward the end of the year. Wait till I officially turn 22 then worry abt this bah. Right now I shall juz enjoy myself till then...

Joke of the day- Catfish

ag.arizona.edu
First of all, I have to assume that most of us have some knowledge of catfish b4 I tell the joke. Otherwise, I might be deemed as being unfair towards tat guy. I was doing my APB project with Joey, Ding Sheng and a Vietnamese guy. The Vietnamese juz joined us as he did not turn up for the first tutorial so did not have any grouping. Joey (and in fact all of us) were already having problems communicatingwith the Viet as his Eng wasn't very good. Yet she kept trying to talk to him (I dun mean communication is a bad thing, mayb she juz tried too hard. Lol...). Joey asked him if catfish was their main diet as she has read somewhere abt it recently. The Viet was like "Huh?". I tried to keep a straight face but Ding Sheng was not helping. He kept laughing to himself by the side. Then, the Viet turned to me and asked "Is a catfish a fish with face of a cat? I think I have eaten many animals in my life but I nv heard of this.". I can't control anymore, I burst out laughing to the point that my tears flowed non-stop. It was damn funny lah. U should have seen all our expressions.

I retold this incident to Carisse, Boon Hwa, Wei Wei and Liting during Biz Com. Again, I laughed till I cried. To those of my frenz who have nv seen me laugh till this extent b4, haha... U have been warned. My tear gland is juz tat sensitive. I need tissue and my mascara is leaving streaks on my face! Sometimes, ppl juz can't tell whether I was laughing or crying. Haa... I juz find it so hilarious, I dunno abt u guys. I tot most of us noe wat a catfish is. Or am I generalising? Sorry if I did...

Anyway, I am so not looking fwd to Chinese New Year. There's no visiting for my dad's side this year cos my Uncle passed away last Aug. This means that I'm gonna stay home on the first day of Lunar New Year: (
Corp Fin Assignment was out yest. Furthermore, I got 3 mid-term tests after the mid-term break (which is the CNY week and I dun get to take a break at all!) What the hell man! Boy am I glad that my FM project is gonna be over by next Fri cos APB and Biz Com are 2 term-long ones. But I'm dreading the FM presentation next Fri. It's been years since I wore a long-sleeve shirt, not to mention very formal at that. Shall see how the presentation goes bah.

To a particular S: I dun think U need me to elaborate any futher. I really dun see the point of staying in contact. Neither am I ur social escort to accompany u go shopping every Sat. I think both of us noe where we stand in each others' hearts right now - incredibly low. I can't believe u gave me 18 missed calls today when I didn't reply ur sms juz to ask "What am I doing?" (which is wat u ask everyday anyway). I wish we have had better conversations than that man. I asked u wat's holding u bk and yet u can't even ans me such a simple question. U should have noticed that I no longer ask u any questions nowadays. Cos I realise that I'm doubting every word that you say so no point in hearing u out. U asked Y dun I trust u? Sorry to say I have been trained to be this way since you-know-what happened some time ago. I believe we have far more impt things in life to attend to. Time is the essence of life and dun waste yours on mine...

Remembrance of a Dead Love

It's true that people only learn to cherish only after the person is gone. People used to tell me that I have such a sweet and loving boyfriend. Back then, I juz tot that it was normal and this is wat a bf ought to be. In a way, he was the reason that this blog was started. I simply needed an outlet where I can juz rant on and on after having no one to turn to.

It started out at Citi. It wasn't the sort of whirlwind romance. The first time we spoke was when he called me (I was at 31st floor while he was at 14th) to take down a sales. (Citi has a policy where u cannot steal a coll's sales if he/she had contacted the customer first). We started smiling then making small talks whenever we see each other around. Got together officially on Christmas's eve. That was in year 2003. Our 6-yr age gap wasn't an issue.

Colls and frenz said we look very compaitable together. He displayed our pic on his office's desk while I had our pic in my wallet etc. We had couple phones, couple everything like earrings, rings. We have seen each other's family and relatives, from the youngest to the oldest. Both our parents seem to think that we will really get married. His dad said he hopes to see us married and advised him not to get a car and saved up for a house instead when he first wanted to get that Lancer. My mom always cooked his fav dishes when he's over for dinner (which is very often). My dad could even trust his car with him but not me! Could you believe this?

He was indeed sweet. I could still rem vividly the times when he took a cab down to Shenton Way frm Millenia during lunchtime to give me a box of Sins choc (a reward for my Distinctions in Poly), how he rented a car on Valentine and surprised me by fetching me in sch. Imagine I was walking towards Dover MRT, intending to meet him there and suddenly a car stopped in front of me. He would also buy Long John and brought it to NUS when he heard that I did not have lunch. He also dropped by my house secretly (when I was not home, my dad opened the door for him of cos) and hid some snacks or tidbits inside my cupboard such that I would find those surprises after I got home. My most exorbitant present has got to be Zavier. It costs around 1k, including the cage and all. No question abt it, he bought it on the spot when I said I wanted the cute puppy.

He was never a cause for worry. He seldom went out with his guy frenz, not to mention gals. He nv minded me meeting my guy frenz cos he's a very confident guy. He had no reason not to be cos he does have all the qualities that gals would yearn for. But somehow, U will tend to think that the person wouldn't leave u no matter wat after awhile. Overconfidence might not be a good thing though. Taking a person for granted is even worse... We often spent our time at the beach, movie or shopping. But it's always juz the 2 of us. He nv like to join my frenz cos he can't speak Chinese for nuts.

As they say, when a man climbs up the corporate ladder, he got more money but dunno where to spend. He started hanging out very often at Balaclava and Thumper after work. He would turn up at my doorstep, drunk to the point where he can't even speak a proper sentence. He also started his Masters then. Would u believe that I would take the last train to Pasir Ris (considering that I stay in Jurong), help him wash car, accompany him study then drive myself home at 4 am? I still couldn't believe I would ever do such a thing. But I did. I guess Love really can make us do the unthinkable...

Despite those mentioned above, we didn't manage to stay together after all which brings us bk to the point where "Life is really unpredictable". Dun take a person for granted. Appreciate and cherish him/her for every little thing.

A Sat with 3S

"Why ur hair so lian?" This has been the first response of frenz who haven't seen me for quite awhile. Fri was Joshua then yest Steff... I'm used to it already. Lol... Steff even said I'm lian enough alr and my hair juz adds on to it. Haha...
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
I met 3 S yest. Tat is their names start with S. Lol... Damn tired, shopped for the entire day. Ate quite a bit too. One of the S, Steff, signed up for credit card and the citibank guy (Victor who is Steff's fren actually) gave us a treat at Olio Dome. We had a Hawaiian pizza and some drinks. I bought a long-sleeve shirt (U didn't read wrongly. Yes Mango bought a shirt.) for my upcoming presentation.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Later on, I had dinner at Hard Rock Cafe. I like the ambience of the restaurant which was decorated with electric guitars and retro clothings. The theme is mainly Elvis Presley and the Beatles. Brings u back to the 70's or 80's. Last nite, they were telecasting a soccer match bet Liverpool and Everton. Many fans of Liv were there at a private room of the restaurant. The food is damn pricey though. But the serving is huge. I had Grilled Salmon Pasta. The salmon was tender and tasted great. I like the cream of the pasta too. I juz dun like the burnt taste (see the black lines on the salmon on the pic above) on some parts of the salmon and the tinge of fishy smell. In the past, I dun dare to touch salmon at all cos I tot it's always raw. Recently, I have been trying more and more of salmon...

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Headed down to Arab St after dinner to try out the sheesha. Not sure if I have spelt that correctly. I have heard abt it from several of my frenz but didn't get down to trying until yest. Hmmm... It was eye-opening. The first few sucks were kinda choking but u'll get the hang of it after awhile. The decor of the restaurant/shophouse is wat u would expect - Arabic. We were seated on the floor with carpets and cushions etc. Ordered mango aryan which is like an ice-blended drink. U can imagine how bloated I am to drink tat after a heavy dinner. I felt like sleeping after awhile. Dunno whether it's the effect of the sheesha. I think it would be better to go with a group of frenz so u can share and pass around the hose (frm the sheesha) to take turns sucking it. Haha... The word "sucking" seems inappropriate but I can't think of a better verb.
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Cool thing... But I felt more like I was playing the recorder. Lol...

My Condolences

Received a saddening news when I woke up this morning. Saw Jason's msg which reads "Seng Liang passed away last nite cos of a bike accident." I was shocked and didn't noe how to react. The news came so sudden and I juz sat there (stoned). Although I dunno him personally, my heart still goes out to him. Perhaps it's like wat Joey said bah, we r all bizaders, like some sort of big family. Haiz... I guess all of us are distraught to see someone with such a bright future ahead to leave unexpectedly. We observed 2 mins of silence for him in class today. My condolences to his family and frenz... I think the pic above is appropriate since Jason is a good fren of his. Seng Liang is in the center. Let's keep him in good memory...
My tears can't help but fall when I saw the memorial video they made for him.
*Cherish your loved ones while you can...*

Anyway, I went for dinner with Shawn at IMM after sch. Bought a jacket from Esprit (though I already have so many) and got a little something for Dian. Can't help myself again. It is relatively cheap and since more ppl were wearing my Mng jacket in sch... Well u noe juz excuses to buy things again. Lol...

Btw, congrats on passing ur driving test, Yingqi...
