Farewell Dinner & Cavern

Last nite, we had our farewell dinner at Royal Plaza Hotel of Mongkok. Food was great.

Look at that... It was buffet style. I love the salmon and sashimi. Like the desserts too. They serve great choc mousse and marble cheese cake. I was so engrossed in eating that I forgot to take pic of the cakes. Had 2 plates of desserts. I have sweet tooth :p

Singaporeans

After the dinner, we headed over to LKF where there is a pub/club called Cavern. It was great with live band etc. Almost comparable to Wala. Haha... Anyway, I'm lazy to type (and going out again soon). So here are all the pics:

Food and more food

I have tried quite a bit of food over the last few days. Bought some more things again. Ok, mayb a lot more cos last nite I was started packing my luggage and it's so heavy now even though it's barely half. These are my star buys:

A Nike jacket for only SGD20. It's authentic. I went to the factory outlets. The original price was around S$55.

Dun kill me, Mom! Yes, she looks at my blog too. I finally managed to find a decent pair of boots after looking around for so long. It's the same price as the jacket above.

This came from Japan I think. U can mix and match the different ingredients. It's only 50 cents per pack.

I miss curry. Haha... Chicken cutlet with curry.

KFC! Wahaha... I had this at Tung Chung on Fri. And I had Mac yest at Shen Zhen...

French Toast with delicious crunchy peanut butter

Mango Milkshake

I must mention this man. I got A- for my International Finance! Yeahoo... I'm so happy cos there's only 1 A and 5 A-. I only started studying at 3am that nite. Studied abit and I went to sleep. Woke up at 10am to continue studying. Thank God man. Haha... But too bad it won't be reflected on NUS Cap. Haiz... Otherwise I could have pulled my Cap up. I'll get the transcript though...

Presentation over, Exam tmr

Formal attire once again...
With our Prof Mahesh of Consumer Behavior. He's such a nice guy lor. Very generous with grading. Even told us yest that the exam on next Mon shall be open-book. Yeah means I can go out this weekend, no need to stay in to mug alr. Haha... Anyway, my prof is going S'pore after this summer program to give some talks to PHD of NUS. Might meet up and bring him go try our delicacies...
Meng, the American Chinese, who used MSN for the first time. Wahaha... Said he might go S'pore next year for exchange. Hope to see U in 2008 then...
Steven
My Japanese curry beef brisket vegetable rice. Nice~ The rice tastes like chicken rice. I'm having my Finance exam tmr. But first I'm going down to Jay's flat. I need my therapy daily. Now, what are you guys thinking abt? Wahaha...

Seafood

Us on the ferry. Going Po Toi Island and Lamma Island...

We walked damn far under the hot sun.

Some golden tortoise...

First time I had prawns with the shell on. It's really crunchy. One of the professor who was with us said that the shell neutralises the prawn which is very high in cholestrol and this is the way ppl eat prawns in China...

Sotong balls
Sweet and sour pork. U can see the finished chicken in the background...
ABALONE!!!

This sums up the cultural trip on Sat. My feet was aching like hell (as I was wearing slippers) by the end of it. Some of my frenz went Karaoke after that. I juz wanna come back to bathe (super sticky). Snoozed for 3 hours after my long bath. Supposed to go down to common room at 8pm as Lukas was celebrating his birthday. But I woke at 10+pm. Haha... Went down to Jay's apartment, talked cock and had cup noodles. Came back to study Finance till 2am...

We went shopping at H&M on Sun. I bought quite a few things and paid with my card instead of cash. Dead meat, I think I spent close to S$200 yest. After that, we went to this place called Australian Dairy Co. at Jordan for dinner. It was recommended by Angie too.
Didn't know what to order. The menu was all in complicated Chinese. Therefore, we went with the set instead. The scrambled egg was the best.

They are known to be famous for the egg and milk stuffs. Jay ordered a bowl of egg white with milk. I ordered this yellow thingy, thinking tat it was egg yolk with milk too. Didn't noe that it comes with almond instead :( Dun like the almond taste. Oh well, I'm gonna order the white one the next time I'm there. Waiting for my pizza right now. We ordered the large ones for both our lunch and dinner since it's so big. In the meantime, I'm going to do my project...

Prive

Why do I feel as though I was living in some Western country instead of Hong Kong? Haha... I have been eating Western food almost everyday. Cos I suppose spaghetti is way better than those instant noodles that they serve.

Oops U can't really see what this is cos it's been covered by the sauce. This is pork chop and egg with spaghetti. Finally found an affordable eating place on campus. It's called "coffee corner" near the swimming pool. It costs around S$2.90 and tastes so much better than the other canteens.

Me enjoying my food. Dun let U see me eat :p Have been doing many unglam things here. Haha... The frenz here would noe what I'm talking abt, esp Jay. Shhh...
We went out yest nite after coming bk to change. It's time for some partying before the stressful period of rushing for reports, presentations and exams. We went to Central and had dinner at this restaurant which Angie has checked out online. The wanton noodle is really good and is only S$2.80. Prawns were wrapped inside the wantons and they are really fresh. Yummylicious...

After that, we headed over to Lan Kwai Fung. Saw this weird guy posing outside one of the bars.

Bloody cheap. Jay and I bought it at S$4 for 2 bottles at 7-eleven.
We were all dolled up for clubbing.

Went to this club called "Prive". Haha... I ka po the coaster back as memorial item. Lol... Got to know some ang mohs there. Usual right, Joshie? I do that in S'pore, come HK also same thing. Haa... They are expats working in HK. I only remembered Andre and Matthew. Dun rem the names of some other guys alr. Andre is from California while Matthew is from New York. Both of them are in the Finance sector. Matthew's a really nice guy. Some guy tried to dance with me after I came out from the toilet. Matt came over to pull me away and I heard him explaining to a bouncer that the guy was trying to hit on me etc. He's staying at the Four Seasons Hotel. Anyway, it was ladies nite and free flow. Therefore, I didn't have to pay a single cent except for the cab fare back. Speaking of which, I haven't returned Chin Ru the money yet cos I was totally knocked out on the way back. Puking like hell again cos I down all my drinks as soon as I got them. They are free anyway except for a shot which Matthew paid for it. Thank you so much to all my frenz who took care of me last nite and even made tea for me etc after I came bk. They included Chin Ru, Jay, Ailing and Angie...

OMG I got a shock when we were on the way back. I took out Andre's name card and showed my frenz. I haven't look at it before that. They exclaimed,"He's a VP man!" Oh my! He was so modest that he didn't even tell me abt it. VP lei, mind U. It's not even some AVP. Wah! I guess it's my honor to get to know him now. No wonder he told me to send him my resume. I was thinking like "He thinks he so big shot meh? As if he could do much with my resume." But I told him I dun wish to work in HK. Then he said got branches in S'pore mah. I said I would rather try for Credit Suisse lei. Haha... Then he kept saying NOOOO Citi is better. Hmmm... After I got a good look at his name card, I'm really considering whether I should send him my resume or not. Corporate/Investment banking is something that I consider going into. This is where the money is. I dun like personal banking. Do U think I should send him?

My phone's LCD went haywire this morning after I woke up. Irritating... When will the curse be broken? Things are still not going the right way. I got fed up, threw it on the floor and miraculously, it become good again. Wahaha... Perhaps I should have tried throwing then laptop the other time? Lol... Good thing I nv ever get hangover. But I was extremely hungry after I got up cos my stomach was empty from the vomiting. Did my laundry, had lunch with Jay at Coffee Corner and I went off to do Finance project with the 2 Honkies, Ralph and Wing. They are so efficient that they are almost done when I got there (was late for an hour. Very sorry abt tat. I simply got to fill my stomach otherwise I'm gonna faint alr. Haha...) Now, I'm left with checking and the editing of their English. I shall go take a nap first. Still rather tired from last nite...

Pizza Craze

I can't believe that we actually ordered in pizza for 2 days straight. We were all plain lazy to go out. Haha... Anyway, I was studying for my finance test over the past few days. So guai lor... Nv went out (except for meals and laundry), juz stayed in my room to study.

Yest's dinner: This large pizza (U can see the size from the grease) comes with Pepsi for only S$6. These 2 slices remaining are not my pizza actually. They are like Seafood and Salami. I had curry chicken (Jay feels that curry chicken is so good that he ordered it today. Lol...). I exchanged about 3/4 of my pizza with my frenz to try out the different flavors. Believe it or not, I finished it all by myself. It's more economical to order Large as the difference is only S$2. Feels like such a glutton lei. The other gals usually can't finish their food. I will clear my plate most of the time lor. There was no delivery charge as we ordered more than HKD100. Freaking cheap can...

Today's dinner: Calzone Beef. Tot it's pizza lei, dunno why it turned out this way. Even cheaper (S$4) cos I ordered regular instead of large. The drink today comes in 7-up.

I'm so happy! My effort paid off afterall. Wahaha... Apparently, not joining my frenz for dinner and staying in to complete the case study last week was worth it. See... It's supposed to be 94 one lei. But due to the stupid bell-curve thingy where there cannot be too many As, my group's grade was being moderated. My other 2 members are Honkies. We are good lei. We only met the day before this case is due for submission and we manage to score well. Yeah! And I'll be getting back tomorrow the test I had today. Hope I can do well for that too... But then again, it doesn't really matter cos I won't be graded, only get S or U. Haha... I juz love the feeling of excelling bah. There's a sense of achievement or some sort...

Anyway, there's a "rat" in my flat! This is infuriating lor. She has been eating the bread and milk that I put in the fridge. I have already noticed the decline in the level of my milk over the last few days. Tot I was hallucinating. But this trend continued. U haven't heard the worst yet. Today, she finished it totally and still has the cheek to put the empty carton of MY milk back inside. God damn it! Why do such fugly people exist? No money to buy meh? Kaoz... I only had like a sip last week and there should be more than 3/4 left one lor. There goes my breakfast...

Pot lunch

The sch brought us to Yuen Long for some Pot lunch yest. There are 9 different types of food inside the pot. The serving was so huge that we only managed to scrape the surface of it. Wasted a lot of food sia. Lesser ppl were showing up each week so the tables weren't fully filled as well.

After that, they led us through some heritage trail. It was bloody hot lor. Most of us didn't really go in to look at those old buildings. We juz wanna find some shaded area to hide there. U can imagine the amount of sweat dripping even inside our clothes. Yucky...
Then, they brought us to Hang Heng Bakery. This pic above shows how egg rolls are being produced...

The famous "wife biscuit". It's complimentary with the tour and everything. Tastes good. But I think I'll only buy during my last few days here cos they cannot last long.

Came bk to hostel around 5pm, bathed and I immediately took a nap. Woke at 7+ feeling so shiok. Haha... Jay wanna go clubbing. But it's very expensive on a Sat nite lah. The cover charge is like S$40 for ladies and S$50 for men. Angie packed dinner for me and Chin Ru. After that, we went to shop at Mongkok again since it's a night market. I bought 3-quarters and another T-shirt. I also got the same white wallet for Mommy except that it's the longer version and black in color. Everything for around S$30 only. Oh yeah I got Tiff & Co. ring and charm bracelet too. Very nice!

Gonna stay in today and tmr for studying (only going out at nite for dinner). My finance test is on Tue. International Finance is really not easy. I think it might be tougher if I have taken that in NUS. But it's competitive here as well. The HK students are really hardworking cos they are graded for it. Dun play play ah! Alright, shall go continue studying already...

Damn rashes

I noe it's awfully disgusting rite? Went to see doc on Mon. Dunno y I got rashes. But my skin has always been sensitive lah. He gave me tablets to stop the itch and cream to apply. However, it's not getting better. In fact, it's getting worse. Haiz... It's killing me. I'm going bk to the doc tmr. My frenz went to club tonite but I didn't go cos I'm afraid that the rashes might get worse. The block is so quiet as most ppl have no sch (or they are not going for their classes) and are out partying. Poor me... Things have nv gone on the right track for me since I got here.

I think this has got to be the cheapest meal I ever had in CUHK canteen. Ham & egg with rice. The food and transportation here is very expensive. Was rushing for a 5-page case study last nite. Therefore, I didn't go for dinner with my frenz. They went out to have Jap food. Sometimes, I couldn't help but feel sorry for myself. Pathetic right?

Got this wallet the other day for SGD 9 only. The art of bargaining...

Since I have decided that I won't really be going out this weekend, I decided to splurge today. Went Shatin with Chin Ru after school. I bought 3 tops from Zara and 2 spaghs from Esprit. All cost around 15 or lesser. Ok enough of clothes...

And mascara!!! I bought a total of 5 already. Can't help it. The make-up here is juz so cheap.

Perhaps I should look for other things like shoes and bags next.
