Farewell, Ben!

Lunch at Pagi Sore yesterday for Ben's farewell. This is Part 1 with new colls from 32nd floor. Another one at Ritz Carlton coming up next week for 40th floor.

How fast Ben's journey with us has come to an end. Come to think of it, he has tendered his resignation around CNY. (We have to serve 3 months' notice here). But he's nice enough to stay awhile more cos we were changing over to a new system and was short-handed.

We will miss you, Ben! No one to bao food for us when we can't finish. No one to scold C/Ps for us when they climb over our head. No one walking around the office and ranting about some silly custodian or C/P. It will be so much quieter. *sigh* Oh wait a min, mayb not. Still got someone's whining beside me...

Was thinking while I was running just now. How many ppl on earth could actually resign for social work? Hmmm... I still cannot get over the fact that Ben did it with so much courage. Oh well, I guess some things are juz not meant to be...

Random: See wat I mean? I hate open-concept!

First time at Gym

Ok, quite a number of things to update in this entry.

My very first time exercising in gym! This is the magnificent view that I get while running on the treadmill at 39th floor. I had the whole gym to myself early in the morning. How shiok! I figured I need some workout cos this week no pilates (instructor on reservist) and it would be too late for me to run by the time my shift ends at night. But it's still amazing how I managed to wake myself up for gym when I could have slept in till 9am.

Lunch with Carisse and Rizwan on Tue. He's doing internship at JPM, same building as me...

Then, it was lunch with Cheng Wei on Wed. Thanks for coming by, gal!

This cartoon character is designed by my coll. Haha... Apt? Anyway, we had some free movie tics for the show Transformer this Fri (some perks of being part of Fun Club). Hence, we were chatting on IM.

He: So how? Wan to go watch?
Me: Nah dun like Transformers.
He: Transformers lei girl... Not Terminator.
Me: Wat's the diff?

I can't rem what he said next. I'm juz being a bimbo lah. Anyway, he gave up and it ended with him saying "Next time got romantic show then ask U". Haaa...

See, this is MY kind of show. Yup, I totally dig this type of romantic comedy. Lol... Caught it on Tue night. Nice... I wanna watch 'The Proposal' next. Been quite some time since I saw Sandra Bullock in any movie. Alright, shall go off to do some things alr. It's Fri tmr!!!

Working Shift

Shift work for me this week. CX is on leave and I gotta cover her Europe region. 10am to 7.30pm. Boss also on leave these few days and Ben going on half day today. Means it's down to me and my mentor to cover everything. Office is so quiet now as everyone is out for lunch. I'm going for late lunch at 1 cos I rather space out the timing and not have a long 2nd half of the day. It's been a rather peaceful day so far. I haven't had a single trade. All USD. Muahaha...

Stayed home last Sat. Been soooooo long since I've been home on a weekend. Haha... But am gonna stay home every sat till National Day cos KW got NDP :( It was quite relaxing I must say. Woke up at 12pm. Checked emails and do some stuff, went back to nap at 3pm. Woke up again at 6pm to have dinner with my family (for Father's Day) then waited for him to knock off. Thanks for the sweet surprise at nite! But we forgot to take pic again...

We overslept on Sun. Ended up going in JB an hour later than planned. Had lunch at MarryBrown and shopped at Mango. A pity the belt of a dress that I like very much is missing. Otherwise, everything is just fine. We headed back close to 5pm. A little jam but still in time to meet his family for dinner (for Father's Day too). Dinner was mainly seafood at Farmart, tried out a few shell thingy which I have never ate before in my entire life. Interesting. Haha...

Stuck in jam. Finally a good hair day :)

Best buy for this Mango sale. Been eyeing it for close to half a year. Price dropped from 80 to 65 then lastly 39. Lucky me found the 2nd last piece for this color. Bought a number of camisoles, tops and a pair of berms as well. Total damage for this season's Mango sale is around $200.

I ♥ cosy weekends spent with closed ones :)

Super nua

Dunno why I got the very nua feeling these days. Dun feel like doing much. Juz wanna laze in bed. Met up with Carisse last week. Lunch next week with Riz, gal. He emailed us today. I told him U r still on leave...

So lazy to blog too. Hmmm... let me think wat have I done over the last weekend? Memory is failing me soon. Oh yes... Went to the new mall Tampines One. Nothing much there actually. We shopped a bit, had high tea at Bakerzin (New York cheese cake 50% off and we had tat twice in 2 days). Then took half day leave on Mon.

http://www.gv.com.sg/moviedetails/gv_moviedetails_7870.jsp

Went Vivo for lunch and movie. "Ghosts of Girlfriends Past" - Must watch! It's really funny and I like the storyline. I think those movie reviews totally cannot be trusted. This show only got 2 stars and they gave "Drag me to Hell" 4 stars! Rubbish...

Lapse of 2 weeks since I last ran. Finally got my butt up and moving today before I changed my mind again. Colls actually asked me go some hotel near Zouk for Jap pizza. I figured I'd better exercise and stop eating so much. Lol... And pilates again tmr, I shall go pack my bag and get ready for bed by 10+.

Oh and before I forgot, dun say I nv let U in on this little secret. MANGO SALE HAS STARTED!!! Again, am too lazy to squeeze with the crowd. Meeting Dian on Fri after work to go instead. Also, Zara sale will follow next week! Have fun with this GSS :)

Meet-up with the 3 J's

Met up with Josh, Jac and Jay on Wed nite after work. The last time 4 of us gathered was during my bday in '07. It's been such a long time... Great catching up guys!

Cheesy chicken with Mango slice and sauce. Funny concoction. Tasted great but dunno whether it was this that made my stomach queasy that night or it's due to the combination with the Frankenstein mudpie below that we shared.

It's been another packed week. Didn't even realise weekend is here. Hate the politics and bitchiness at work. Colls are being cranky simply cos "we are the clients" and they think other banks should really bow down to us. For me, I'll always stand in the position of others when I'm talking to them. Like I always say, dun treat ppl how U dun wan to be treated. This always work vice versa. I notice that making others happy also make me happy these days. A simple smile, simple words like "Thank you" and "Please" make a whole lot of difference.

Juz like how I hate being bossed around, I will speak to my assts instead of emailing them "FOR YOUR ACTION". Damn hate those three letters - FYA. Some ppl juz like to do this even though they are just seated beside you. Funny ain't it? Thank god mentor is on leave on Mon. She thinks other banks are always whining about the difficult tasks they have on hand cos of us. What she doesn't know is that her constant whining is driving me up the wall. I always plug in my ear phones at work these days. Can't stand the buzzing in my ear from such irritating pests. Perhaps I should consider a customer service job? Haha...

We finally caught a mid nite show at Vivo last nite. Was speeding all the way there cos we were late from the car wash. Stupid show! Please dun watch it...

Anyway, so happy for U, Carisse - for changing to APAC shift. We can finally meet up on weekdays instead of our once-a-month shopping on a Sat. Can't wait to see U next week!

Dining and Shopping

Went East Coast after dinner at Bedok market last Fri. Yeah, was craving for the soupy bah chor mee again. Haha... Weather has been unbearably hot that there was no breeze even at Bedok Jetty. We wound up the nite at 2am: Dessert Bar @ Holland V.

Dark choc and Strawberry + cheesecake. I must say the desserts are rather unique though. Not wat you'll get at any other cafe. Nv knew grinded peanuts could go so well with sweet stuffs. The dessert in below pic was on the house. No idea why they were being so kind. But I think they should lah. 2 plates of pathetic serving added up to around 30 bucks. Costly...

Great S'pore Sale has started again last Friday. Went shopping with Dian yest. Literally shopped till I dropped. My arms were aching from carrying the many shopping bags. I got clothes from Forever21 & Mango, 2 pair of heels from Charles and Keith and I can't rem wat else. Highlight for my shopping trip was the splurge on LV Neverfull Damier Bag!
Love the inside of the bag. It's so pretty and elegant...

*Thanks for picking me up after shopping* We went to some Jap restaurant off Kings Road for dinner. It's called Hanako - ala carte buffet. Needless to say, we ordered till we were full to the brim. It's nice, just that they didn't have the soft shell crab I was craving for...
Sushi, grilled teriyaki, miso ramen etc. The plate of yellow/brown stuff is actually beef lah. Pic turns out gross :x
Tofu and tempura prawns.
Chawanmushi (not sure if I have spelt it correctly). This is not the normal chawanmushi, mind U! This is cheese chawanmushi. Yummy... I like it alot...
And my all-time favorite Salmon Sashimi. Can't rem how many servings we ordered alr. Thank god I didn't get diarrhea today.

Oh and not forgetting this. Meet my new frenz - Kuma, Mr Blue (and also the Little Twin Stars).

*You fill the empty me with happiness. Truly appreciate it. Thank you so much!*
