My Historic Day
My first MC since i started work early last year. This ought to be penned down and remembered cos I have not taken MC before until today. Haha... Not exactly very sick or something. I actually went in to office this morn. Then I started having diarrhea. Visited the toilet 3 times in the morn. Decided to take the day off and go to the doc. Doc said I must have ate the wrong food. DD also having diarrhea. Must be the buffet catering last nite or something.
Hence, I ended up sleeping away the entire afternoon. Feels shiok! Haha... It was a great and well-deserved rest. I have been wanting to take one Friday off to rest and to have a long weekend. Think that is not necessary alr. Need to save up my leave for the upcoming Taiwan trip in May! Alright, shall update again. I shall get some more shut-eye. Tata...

Food for Thought
Over the past week, 2 colleagues have resigned. I'm so surprised. They are so brave to quit given the current financial situation right now. They are so carefree and dun seem to give a damn to the world. Furthermore, they cited reasons as "wanting to explore and find time more for himself" while the other want to go do social work. Both didn't resign cos they were headhunted or found a greener patch of grass. They wanna leave simply due to personal reasons. They are not even going to bother staying awhile longer for bonus. Wow... is all I can say.Throughout 2008, I have nv seen anyone resign (except case where the person is forced to leave for some reason). I have already thought the environment and culture in my company is so comfortable that no one wants to leave. Indeed, it is truly so comfy that I am getting fat. Haha... Anyway, back to issue, I can't understand how they could quit when there are so many ppl out there who are being retrenched and desperately looking for jobs. I told my mom and she said "Social work can earn you bread meh?"
Hmmm... Is job security that important? This was posed to me by this colleague who is leaving. He asked us this question over lunch abt 1 or 2 mths back (Today after the announcement of his resignation, then I understand why he popped this weird qn out of nowhere). I answered "Of course" immediately w/o thinking. No money no talk wat. Then today I stop and think. People have been striving on and on for a living, they work hard everyday. Does anyone ever stop to think for a moment what is the purpose in life? There doesn't seem to be a meaning to life. Everyday is just a routine and we are just passing each day as it is.
For me, I dun have any big aspiration. I juz wanna make money - to be financially independent and able to buy things that I like. The thought of setting up a family and having kids makes me plan for the future and motivates me. If I could retire early, that would be a bonus. I repeat I just wan a simple life, comfortable will do. But then again, the term 'comfortable' might have different meanings to diff ppl. Hmmm... Oh well to each his/her own bah. Shall wish my coll all the best. He's staying till June to help out cos we are changing system in the upcoming months. We need to serve 3 months notice by the way.
Alright, let's move on to lighter issues. It's Valentine's Day!
Got DD a Ralph Lauren Polo Tee for his casual dressing on Friday to work.
He got me a pair of Adidas ballerina flats as I have been looking for comfortable shoes for walking. Thanks DD!

Victoria's Secret Bag
Met Jac at City Hall yest after work. We had dinner and then shopped at Raffles City and Suntec. Found a great deal at the basement of Raffles City:
I absolutely love this Victoria's Secret bag. It's sold at one of the push carts. Even though it's not very branded and I could not even be certain that this is the real deal, I still like it alot. Feel happy just thinking about it. Another coll is going US soon. I have actually asked her to help me buy a Kate Spade bag from the States. Luckily I found this VS bag and I ditched the Kate Spade which is abt $400+. Haha...

CNY Celebration
It's been quite a good weekend with CNY celebration still going on. DD came over to my place yesterday afternoon and we played MJ with my parents. Daddy suggested playing with a bit of money so we played few cents kind. It was quite fun even though my dad was the only one winning and I lost the most. In the evening, we drove back to DD's place for steamboat. It's the first time Daddy lent me his car to drive on my own. Maybe cos it was CNY afterall and he was happy with his winnings. Haha...
Early this noon, I went over to DD's aunt's house. It's at Jurong West, pretty close to my place. Look at DD's cute dog, Lucky. She looks so nice in this cheongsam! After that, it's turn to go over to my aunt's place at Little India.
2 of my nieces. The one on the right is usually extremely introvert and doesn't interact with ppl. Dunno why she was hopping around today and even clinged on to DD's leg. Haha weird~ Anyhow, it's back to work again tmr. 5-days week again. *Sigh* Better rest early...
