Pasta Cafe
I have been wanting to try out their pasta since they opened. It's located at the basement of Taka. But nobody has been keen on it until yesterday...

Turns out that Carisse likes pasta too!

Carisse had lobster linguine.

I had my usual Carbonara. Both of us think that the pasta is good. It doesn't taste "jelat" (you doesn't get sick of it even towards to the end). I will definitely go back for more... Sidetrack abit: Amazingly, I didn't buy anything yesterday!

I like it that we know we still love each other at the end of the day despite whatever arguments that we may have. Thanks Dear!

Quality time spent with my frenz
I went to the Coach sale and bought a regular-price item. How crazy can I get? Was choosing between white and pink. Think I prefer this and I got a new piece. It costs $315, same as a wallet after discount. Therefore, I figured buying this is more worthwhile than a wallet. I have to admit I didn't love this pink pouch to pieces. I juz feel that I had to buy something since I have went all the way and queued for the sale. Ok, dun even start preaching at me. I'm beyond cure now :p

Met CW and Eugene for dinner at Thai Express and then drinks at Tango last night. It was a last min decision while msn-ing at work. I thought I was going home to blog on a Friday night but turns out they didn't have plans either so we hanged out at Holland V. It was great catching up with them. Realised that I dunno so many things about their lives. Must meet up more often...
Went to Dear's place after that. I'm really getting old. Not used to sleeping so late for a very long time. Feels uncomfy after waking up today. My nose is running now. Oh yes, Great Singapore Sale has started yesterday! I'm going late-night shopping with Carisse later. But I'm waiting more for Mango and Zara sale. Hope I won't spend too much again later...

Basket Bag
Barely 2 weeks and I have bought myself another bag. Hahaha... Met Yufen for lunch at Raffles Place today and we came across this bag at Charles and Keith of Clifford Centre. I have actually seen this bag before and refused to buy it previously as there was no discount and I thought the Great Singapore Sale was coming soon anyway. But the price that I saw today was $25 (which is half the regular price: original $49)! Therefore, I immediately asked for a new piece and just bought it without thinking further. I almost forgot to check the zips too. Haha... Simply overexcited. Yufen has witnessed for herself how I buy things on impulse nowadays. Trust me, it's horrendous! I even told her to stop me from buying things before we went to shop. It's incontrollable...
I'm glad that I'm still able to set aside a sum of savings each month despite buying so much :) Am going Coach's sale preview tmr. Hehe...

Jia Ying's Housewarming
My colleague, Jia Ying, invited us to her housewarming party yesterday. She has moved to a new condo, Floravale, which is somewhere in Jurong West (Westwood to be exact).

The most enormous bear I have ever seen greeted us at the door...

Buffet awaiting us...

Comfy living room with balcony. It's quite woody outside. Haha...

Subsequently, I took a number of random shots...

This is Jia Ying's son who resembles her so much! Hmmm... Well, I supposed this sums up a family life. I'm already imagining moving out and having a kid of my own. Haha... Age is catching up with me. But it's kinda scary to become a parent yourself bah. I still wanna be single for a couple more years, esp now that I have just tasted the sweetness of financial freedom/independence. It really feels good...
After that, I headed to the beach with Dear. We cycled till 8pm at night and had dinner at Marine Parade. Bumped into Yingqi and Ivan who are also cycling at East Coast. So coincidental... Haha... Shall see U guys at the convocation ceremony in July.
I'm beginning to detest this summer. It's so so hot. Was it like this last year as well? I was in Hong Kong so I don't know a thing. It's still extremely hot at night that I even moved the living room's fan into my room. Can't stand the damn heat. It's giving me rashes and I have seen the doc for $76 (Luckily I'm able to claim 100% from my company)! Good grief, global warming!
I just got back from my jog and had dinner. Didn't run the last 2 Sundays as I had something on. Feels healthy to sweat it out. Right now, I have to get started on my readings. Brought home a thick pile of market profile reviews. Hate projects lah, nobody warn me that I still need to face them after I start work. I thought I was done with them after I finished school.

Visit from Meng
Good ol' Meng was in town for a visit this week. We brought him to dinner at Beach Road on Tue. Then, we met again yest for dinner at a Jap restaurant at Taka. Omg, he actually lost his luggage and managed to retrieve it. Not very clear of the story but the luggage went from Los Angeles to HK and finally to Singapore. This means that Dear will finally get his Abercrombie shirt. Haha...

I think he and his gf look cute and compatible together ;)

Group photo. A number of ppl like Jay, Chin Ru and Angie are missing from the pic for various reasons. Oh yah, Dear finally started his intern this week. This explains his formal attire.
I'm still pondering over Jason's statement: U can't control whether someone changes his or her heart. Basically it means that the person falls for someone else. Yup, it's true that it's impossible to control. How sad is that... Hmmm, it didn't happen to me. But I have no idea why I feel something though...

All my favourites

My doc cousin has finally bought a house. He's getting married some time end of this year. Anyway, he and his family are staying at this Marine Parade HDB while searching for their new house due to the old one being en block. It has a great view of the sea and there's constant sea breeze. It's quite a nice place.
We celebrated Mother's Day last Sunday already. Had buffet dinner at Roxy. Variety not a lot and the food not as fantastic as what I expected.

Multipy this serving by at least 10 cos I got abt 3 to 4 more platefuls after that. I had the runs the next day but I dun regret eating so much salmon cos I like it so much...
Totally adore this bag that I bought from Icon Village. MT and I chanced upon this only shopping paradise at Tanjong Pagar. It's just opposite Amara Hotel. Anyway, I think this bag looks similar to those Prada/Miu Miu bags. See below:

FYI I photoshop to combine these 2 bags into 1 pic. So no infringement on Prada's copyright too. The shop also sells a brown bag like this but I prefer something more longish and I got no grey bag. My assets (bags, clothes, shoes etc) are getting more colorful as I try out new colors. Haha...

Found a shop that sells really nice working clothes at Tanjong Pagar MRT. I bought the hot pink blouse last week and the yellow top yesterday. Most tops are selling at $39. Love that all the tops come with their own matching belts. Oops didn't I said I need to stop buying? :X
Am gonna watch "What happens in Vegas" tmr. When did GV tickets also increase to $10 each? It's incorrigible. Gives me and Dear all the more reason to go in JB and watch. Haha... We were planning on having Manhattan for dinner but Dear said his mom cooking steamboat so we going bk for dinner lor. Yest also had pizzas at his place cos it was his mom's birthday. First time I tried the Candian pizza instead of the usual Pizza Hut. It's not too bad.
I almost fainted from fatigue yesterday. With project and a meeting to attend, I had very little time to settle my 80 over trades. Irritating lor... Haven't convert me and threw me a project which spans from May to August. The senior manager even said at the meeting yesterday,"FYI, Elaine (the asst director) handpicked you all herself. Not we select one..." My colls and I were like: Should we feel honored or wat? Shitty... I'm one of the coordinators some more. I suppose you must really shine and do well at a govt co. If you screw up, out you go. I can feel the tension...

JB's expedition
The first thing that we did when we arrived in JB was to get pure chocolate from Coffee Bean. The weather was so hot there even though it's just across the border. But it's the summer season anyway and S'pore is also very hot but not as hot as JB I think. Ok nvm I'm juz grumbling cos I can't stand the heat...

Then, we had dinner at a small town restaurant called "Teck Sing". It's famous for it's paper-wrapped chicken. But we didn't order this time round cos we were saving space in our stomach for desserts. We had curry fish head and egg with prawns. The curry is fantastic, I poured the gravy over my entire plate of rice.

We watched Ironman at the cinema of City Sq. It was Cathy Cineplex too. Couple seats at only RM23 (exch rate is approximately 2.29. U do the math.) ! It's so freaking cheap lor. Lover popcorn combo at RM 7.90(Dear corrected me, it should be RM6.90)!

Cheesecake from Secret Recipe at half the price of Singapore. Dear had Oreo cheese while I had Raspberry cheese. We definitely enjoyed ourselves very much. I can foresee going into JB more often in future. Haha...

2nd interview
Even though I have yet to meet both my managers this afternoon, I already know what it's about cos I was walking to Amoy with my senior manager for lunch. Yup, it's abt conversion to perm. So next next Mon is like my 2nd interview with the asst Director...
I want higher pay! Bonus! 21 days leave! Cab & meals claim! Yeah!

Birthdays
It's my coll, Ben's, birthday today but we celebrated for him yest as not all ppl will be going back to work today.

Our wishes in different languages written on his whiteboard.

We bought a Macgriddle for him in the morning. He's been wanting to try it out...

Then in the afternoon, they got him a cake from Secret Recipe. It's nice - cheese cake with chocolate coating...
Dear's father birthday also falls on Labor Day. Therefore, we had dinner at a Chinese restaurant at Amoy. Food is not bad but according to his mom, the standard has dropped. Anyway, we watched "The Nottie and the Hottie" after dinner. Was late for abt 20 mins cos we left the dinner late. But we still managed to understand the story. It was pretty funny. Haha... U all should catch it. Beware, dun let ur bf get smitten by Paris Hilton though!
I have blown more than hundred dollars for this week alone. Thank God the growth dividend is here and my next pay check is coming in a week plus time. I'm not that low on cash but I juz hate to touch my designated savings amount lah...
