Taipei trip
1335 - that's the number of emails which greeted me when I returned to work on Wed. Was damn tired, touched down on Tue mid nite and barely had much sleep. Finally, the week is over and my weekend is here!
Like this pic :) Nicely taken at the Chiang Kai Shiek Memorial Hall. The trip was not too bad. Juz that I feel I didn't get the break/rest that I much needed. Came back feeling exhausted instead of recharged and energized. Shall take leave again once the system changeover is done. My coll has already booked 10 days leave in Nov. Damn I'll be overflooded again. Prob might need to go back office next Sat. There goes my weekend :(
Ok back to Taiwan. Tried varieties of food there. Found this the cutest. Coll has told me abt the Modern Toilet and I have seen pics about it. Managed to locate in Xi Meng Ding. Basically, the theme of the cafe is Toilet. Everything is designed using bathtubs, toilet bowls, urinals etc. Food is also served in toilet bowl with a pile of shit beside it. Haha... Unique, I like...
Taiwanese that we got to know there. We were asking our way around and these 2 gals said they were also heading to the same night market. Hence, we decided to go there together and ended up spending the night as a group. They are still schooling. This pic was taken chilling out at KFC where their teacher joined us. The teacher was so nice to send us back to our hotel at the end of the night. It impresses me that Taiwanese are so friendly and amicable, reflects well on the country as a whole. When can S'pore be so gracious man?
Another memorable event was catching the sunset at Danshui. You can really get a clear view of the sunset in the evening. Weather was cooling and it was great chilling out by the sea side. We wanted to go to a pub/villa along the shoreline (almost similar to Cafe Del Mar in our own Sentosa). However, it was so packed and we need to leave our number behind then they will call us when seats are available. We decided to forgo it and juz sit on the rock instead. Now I understand why this place is highly recommended by people and they say it's a must-go!
Sad thing is I didn't do much shopping. The summer season clothes are all about the same. Chiffon material, pink/white shade. Hence, I didn't buy much. Changed $900 but ended up spending only about $600. Bought quite a number of tissue pouches for myself and my girlies. I actually found Naraya there. Haha... Top 3 are from Naraya, the rest are from some traditional Taiwan shop where they state the pouches are made of Taiwanese silk. Dunno how true is that...
Bought numerous boxes of sun pies, pineapple tarts and some other snacks for my family and colls. Colls say the sunny pie is nice cos of the buttery taste and it's something different. Glad they like it.
Alright, I need to prepare to go out soon. Wanna watch 天使与魔鬼. Shall update again soon...
